#Code2Create

@RheLancaster students have been coding in the mornings and during lunch. It was amazing to experience their work during the @LancasterISD #code2create They were definitely up for the challenge 💪🏾 #RHEALLIN

@chapelartists @LitlLinden Definitely! And also how to make these things interact with each other. One benefit of @PraxisLIVE here is that there are lots of pre-built components for these things, but we'll cover how to play with the code of these to adapt them if you need to.

@neilcsmith_net @chapelartists @PraxisLIVE Brilliant! So learning your way around common functions rather than starting from scratch! That means the #code2create course will cover a lot of possibilities as well as the basics of creating with code (eeek!)

@LitlLinden Hi! Theoretically anything! But the software comes with lots of additional support for working with graphics, video and audio. The graphics side of things uses Processing, which was designed to provide a simple way in to code for artists, but is also very powerful.

@neilcsmith_net That’s the problem ha! Ok what kind of things do I already know is possible? I know it’s possible to create triggers that the code will respond to, making installations interactive or responsive to input. Could this be touch, sound, voice? #code2create

#code2create as an artist I love getting into the #how of things. I learned to code websites nearly 15 years ago because I needed to get my hands on the raw digital material to understand it. @neilcsmith_net what is possible with PraxisLive software and what might I discover?

The Hack is now open.The thrill has just begun #acm #acmvit #code2create #hackathon #acmvitindia

Just 6 away from reaching 500 downloads within a week I published. I hope to contribute more to the community. This thing really motivates me to do more and more. 494 downloads for box-exec!

@akshitgrover_ Amazing!

@jordiie09 Thank you, Got inspired by you! I still remember that day during #code2create when you asked me to contribute to the admin portal knowing I just started with development. All that faith of yours :)

The final chapter of the biggest Hackathon of South India is here. Final Evaluation Round. #Code2Create

"We are the people we represent" A big thank you from us to our diversity partner @gitlab for being our backbone and helping us bring together different and diverse communities and strata of society. It’s just the beginning, change is here. #diversity #heforshe #code2create

Let us take a trip down memory lane, back to the good times when we had 500 amazing participants compete in the same hall. ACM-VIT presents to you, the Code2Create 4.0 aftermovie! #code2create #c2c #acmindia #acmvit #acmvit #acm #hackathon #tbt

Tech review 3 in session now.All the best to all the participants!!! #acm #acmvit #code2create #hackathon #acmvitindia

#code2create For beginners with no coding experience what’s the learning curve like and how do you introduce them to digital thinking? In case anyone is interested but feeling nervous or doubtful!

Adding beats to the melody of this hack,we introduce to you "Octave" where you choose what plays. #acm #acmvit #code2create #hackathon #acmvitindia

Pierre, 13yrs likes computer games, mostly car race games, he decided to make one on his own using @scratch Love to see this mindset change #code2create #coding4kids #africacodeweek

@LitlLinden @chapelartists Yes, I'm generally not a fan of screens! Projection is great though. Finding ways to make art with code that works architecturally is great. For some artists, that they use code is important, for others it's purely the means to an end.

@neilcsmith_net @chapelartists Can you give an example of how core can be used for projection? (@susanefrancis might be interested in that) #code2create

This is tomorrow! Ask @neilcsmith_net your question about using coding software to create artwork and installations. Use the hashtag #code2create

Tech Review 1 is now in session! Good luck to all the participants! May your best of your ideas come to life this Code2Create 2020. #acm #acmvit #code2create #hackathon #acmvitindia

@LitlLinden We'll look at some visual approaches to coding first, and how these translate behind the scenes into text. The basics of programming are not that difficult. But there's always something new to learn, so I'll make sure we look a lot at where to take it next and how to find help.

@neilcsmith_net Oooh very good. It’s sort of easier to learn code when you start having ideas isn’t it. “I wonder if that’s possible?” Becomes “how would I do that with code?” Im just struggling to imagine “off the screen” applications having only played with code for the internet #code2create
