OMG, a purple star! 👀⁉️ A small note to the few who complain in vain about inaccurate star colors. I have long since given up chasing after the right, the really correct star colors by hook or by crook. 🥱 #photoprocessing #stars I no longer want to spend days and nights photometrically calibrating everything and then end up with nobody wanting to see my pictures. I started such an attempt in 2005, with the result that a photo only got a handful of hits a day, we're talking five views a day! Yes, sometimes the star color is off, sometimes it is totally off. Sorry, but those visitors who want to see absolutely accurate star photos have taken the wrong turn here. But then they should also consider whether the nebula photographs that you can admire on X also have accurate colors. I doubt that. I have calibrated my displays here, of course I try that they look as good as possible from time to time, but .... ... I put my photos online to motivate you, dear friends, to awaken an interest in the night sky and astronomy, and not to practice photometry. Thank you and CS ✨

💻 GraXpert is a free program to enhance your astronomy photos by removing the so-called gradients from the photos, a crucial #photoprocessing editing step in one’s #astrophotography workflow. ✨🔭👀 On Windows this program invoked with a simple double click. 🙂 🙄 However, to open #GraXpert on MacOS 🍎 follow the instructions of user „Sputnik“ dated 8.1.2024 at ⚡️ A nice video how to use it is on @YouTube: How to Use GraXpert

Now that I have cancelled my 11.89 EUR/month #photoprocessing subscription, and you all know who I mean 😅, I am struggling to find an alternative to my gradient removal tool, Russel Croman's GradientXTerminator plugin, which I have loved using for the last decade. During my search I came across software that offers many of these and other features, such as: My ON1 software, that I bought on Sunday, is currently indexing my astrophotography catalog with its 2+ terrabytes size since ... yesterday. 😃

Just as an interim remark. 💾👀❗️ After so many years of working with the 11,89€ subscription image editing software, and you know what I mean, one might think, that they set the standard with their appearance and functionality, that all other image editing packages have to follow their example, in other words, that they are the real deal. But this is not the case. There are other, less expensive software packages that you can purchase - without a subscription - and that break new ground in workflow and licensing terms; that offer a refreshment of our stagnant everyday life and promote efficiency. Just as an interim remark. #photoprocessing
