    After seeing so much discussion of Julia and Mojo, my view is that you should understand the contrast as two different answers to the question "to really improve the experience of scientific computing, do you need a brand new language or not?" Julia assumes yes, Mojo assumes not.

    @johnmyleswhite Julia is on a better path. Mojo looks like it still has all the numpy ugliness. Good Julia code is cleaner and more expressive. Mojo's goal is to be a clean superset of Python, where existing Python code runs fine. That will limit how they can improve the language.

    @highfreq @johnmyleswhite As #MojoLang is a superset of #PythonLang, I do hope that @Modular_AI will one day in the future add on those extras so that Mojo🔥 can have the cleanliness and expressiveness of #JuliaLang/#MATLAB when doing math, rather than the awkward way Python is

    One of the things I love with #RustLang is that I can play around with low-level things that I've never really felt comfortable with before. Here's my (compiling!) attempt at writing #PythonLang's GIL. It's a reference-counted hashmap behind a write-lock mutex. #Rust is fun!
