TIL - #SQLModel is incredible - it has just the right amount of magic to work out of the box with maximum flexibility It integrates perfectly with FastAPI allowing to use the same (Pydantic) model to do data validation, db interactions - combining DAL, DTO and DAO into one model.

My takeaway from adding @tiangolo's #sqlmodel to my #fastapi project on @googlecloud run; it's awesome for new projects but I wouldn't refactor important prod apps to use sqlmodel yet. tldr; sqlmodel has a great dev ux compared to similar tools

My dream ORM for Python would be a merge between @tiangolo's #SQLmodel and @ponyorm: a #pydantic/@FastAPI-compatible ORM with pure-python syntax based on lambdas and generators.
