RT @msdev: The @github engineering team built a best-in-class, truly multi-model harness, which we've implemented across Microsoft products. Introducing Microsoft Copilot harness in Foundry Agent Service, a simpler way to build agents without rebuilding the execution layer. It handles orchestration, tools, context, and controls so you can focus on your agent’s skills and outcomes. Watch @jeffhollan's demo to see it in action.

RT @kdaigle: We sold out in-person tickets this year, but hoping you can still show me what you got. I’ve got a few extra customizable GitHub keyboards that we’ll ship to three people who can build a wild custom canvas that makes their workday better in the GitHub Copilot app. May the odds be ever in your favor. 😄

🆕 GPT-6.1 Terra from @OpenAIDevs is now generally available in GitHub Copilot. Our early testing shows GPT-6.1 Terra solved noticeably more terminal and C# coding tasks than GPT-5.6 Terra. It works in focused, consolidated steps on well-scoped tasks. Try it out for everyday agentic coding and terminal work at a lower cost than GPT-6.1 Sol. Find it in the GitHub Copilot app, CLI, and @code.

RT @ArtificialAnlys: GitHub has released Copilot Fusion in GitHub Copilot, which orchestrates between Anthropic and OpenAI models. It scores 2 points below Opus 5.5 in Claude Code at half the Cost per Task in the Coding Agent Index GitHub describes Copilot Fusion as a runtime orchestration system, which selects and coordinates models to optimize performance, cost, and latency for each task. Copilot Fusion chooses between a number of models from Anthropic and OpenAI, including Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Sonnet 5.5, GPT-6 Astra, and GPT-6 Sol. We benchmarked its max setting in GitHub Copilot CLI in the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index v2.0. Token costs are charged based on the underlying models used to complete a request. Key takeaways: ➤ Cost-efficient for near-frontier performance: Copilot Fusion in GitHub Copilot costs $5.59 per task, versus $11.42 for Claude Code with Opus 5.5 (max). Devin Fusion with Opus 5.5 (max) + GPT-6 Luna (high) scores 62 at $8.00 per task. ➤ Slight lead in Terminal-Bench 4.0: The Coding Agent Index v2.0 weights its three constituent benchmarks equally. Copilot Fusion in GitHub Copilot leads Terminal-Bench 4.0 with a score of 71. It ranks third on FrontierCode in the chart at 51, behind Claude Code with Opus 5.5 (max) at 56 and Devin Fusion with Opus 5.5 (max) + GPT-6 Luna (high) at 54. Its SWE-Atlas-QnA-AA score lags at 57, between GPT-6 Astra in Codex and Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity CLI. ➤ Half the token use of Opus 5.5 in Claude Code: GitHub Copilot Fusion used 7.2M tokens per task in the Coding Agent Index, approximately half of the tokens used by Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, and 30% less than Devin Fusion with Opus 5.5 (max) + GPT-6 Luna (high).

Chopin + Proof-Driven Development Kit from @GitHubNext and @MSFTResearch enable teams to ship AI-generated code to production without reviewing it line by line, with stronger assurance than code review and testing alone. Now in research preview ⬇️
    GitHub Next @GitHubNext
How do you _guarantee_ your agent's code is correct? You prove it. Introducing Proof Driven Development Kit (PDD Kit) from @MSFTResearch. PDD Kit helps turn your plan into a formal spec, then proves the agent's code meets that spec for every input. No vibe verification. PDD Kit is integrated with @GitHubNext's Chopin, so you can plan as a team. PDD Kit takes an app's login flow from intent to a verified pull request: It discusses your code, infers your intent as it goes, and proposes a formal spec in Verus, a proof language for Rust. Once you approve the spec, the Verus verifier automatically proves the code meets it. Where proof isn't possible, it falls back to empirical verification with tests and computer-use agents (CUAs). It works on Rust today. No new language, no change in how you produce the underlying code, making formal methods more accessible. The goal is a verified software factory, where engineers review specifications instead of code. Come see it in action at GitHub Universe, Oct 28–29. Swing by the Speakeasy and ask for GitHub Next!

RT @moraes_c_: We worked with maintainers, including @tianzhouchen, to build a better way to track GitHub stars over time. The new API returns daily star counts without exposing who starred a project, making star history easier to retrieve, cheaper to serve, and more private. Here's how we built it:
