HMEFCC Shri @byadavbjp met Mr. Narend Singh, Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment of South Africa during #CBD COP17 in Yerevan, Armenia, to exchange views on an equitable, effective and adequately funded multilateral benefit-sharing mechanism for digital sequence information (DSI) on genetic resources, including the Cali Fund. The discussions also covered Project Cheetah, with India appreciating South Africa’s continued support for the initiative and both sides looking forward to advancing cooperation on these shared priorities.

The Directorate of Forest Education, Dehradun, joined the efforts under #SpecialCampaign6 by carrying out cleanliness and space management activities, contributing to a cleaner and more organised environment.

At #CBD COP17, HMEFCC Shri @byadavbjp met Mr. Carsten Schneider, Germany’s Federal Minister for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, to discuss shared priorities in wetland conservation, climate adaptation and international climate finance. The meeting also reviewed the Joint Declaration of Intent on the conservation and wise use of wetlands, following the 4th Indo-German Environment Forum in New Delhi, and explored cooperation ahead of UNFCCC COP31.

HMEFCC Shri @byadavbjp had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ing. Ivo Marcin, Deputy Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic, on the sidelines of #CBD COP17 in Yerevan, Armenia. The discussions explored cooperation in waste and water management, with a focus on circular economy practices and technology transfer, opening avenues for sharing expertise and advancing sustainable environmental solutions.
