RT @ssamat: I’ve always believed that the endgame of spatial computing is something close to the holodeck on Star Trek – computing that feels limitless, immersive, and completely natural. When we started building Android XR, we knew the early chapters of that story would require bulky headsets. That was the price of admission for the technology at the time. Today, you can see the transition to the next generation happening in real time. XREAL just officially launched XREAL AURA, the first wired XR glasses running Android XR. Because they’re dramatically lighter and more balanced than traditional headsets, they cross a critical barrier: you can comfortably keep them on for hours whether watching a movie or getting work done on multiple screens. I’ve been using a pair recently, and it changes how you think about screens: 🟢 For productivity: I can pull up multiple virtual windows in a public space without anyone seeing my work. It completely changes working on the go. 🟢 For entertainment & daily apps: Because it runs Android, all of your favorite Google Play apps are natively there alongside immersive XR content. 🟢 For everyday life: With Gemini integrated, the glasses understand what you're looking at and can give you hands-free, contextual help as you walk around. We wanted Android XR to be more than a cool tech demo – we wanted it to fit effortlessly into daily life. Today feels like a huge step in that direction. Proud of the Google and XREAL teams who pulled this off! Learn more about XREAL AURA here:

Your pointer just got a serious glow-up. With Magic Pointer on the new Googlebook, Gemini is integrated right into your pointer. Just wiggle and click across your screens to ask questions, compare details, and create on the fly.

Dieter (@backlon) breaks down how Googlebook delivers a more connected laptop experience, from seamless device connectivity to built-in Gemini Intelligence.

RT @ssamat: If you have a long, long commute like me, you know how much mental coordination happens the moment you sit in the driver's seat. I’ve said before that having Gemini in the car is a game changer, but Personal Intelligence now takes it to an entirely new level. Available now on Android Auto and coming soon to cars with Google built-in, Gemini can securely bridge your physical journey with your digital life across Google Workspace, Photos, Maps, and more. Take a scenario many of us deal with: picking up family from the airport. Normally, you're driving while trying to remember their flight number, wondering if their gate changed, and mentally calculating if you'll make it to the terminal on time. Now, you don't have to pull over to dig through your phone. You just ask: "Is my family's flight on time, and what terminal should I head to?" Gemini does the heavy lifting. It securely pulls the flight info from your Gmail and matches it with real-time airport data, so you can get to the right destination without missing a beat. We've designed this with strict privacy at the center, ensuring your data remains completely under your control. Amazing work by our teams! Can’t wait to hear what you all think.

RT @seangchau: When I check with friends and family, most of them say they’re getting scam calls, so it was no surprise to find out that 40% of smartphone users say they’re ‘extremely’ concerned about mobile fraud. That’s why as mobile scams continue to evolve, so will Android’s built-in defenses. Scam Detection in Phone by Google and Google Messages already flag more than 5 million suspected scam calls and texts every month. And now we’re introducing further updates to keep you safe before threats reach you:

RT @GooglePlay: Downtime just got an upgrade. New games are ready to be played across your PC and phone ✨ No matter where you go, your games follow ➡️🎮 #GoPlay

Start working on your Android phone and pick up where you left off on your Googlebook, without missing a beat.

"I was lucky enough to be one of the first to experience Googlebook, and what surprised me most wasn’t just what I could create, but how much I enjoyed creating it. A little wiggle of the mouse brings Gemini right into my workflow. Ideas turn into visuals faster, experimentation feels more spontaneous, and I can keep creating without losing my flow. It reminded me how much more fun the creative process can be when technology works with your imagination instead of interrupting it." - Gizem Akdag Watch how @gizakdag uses Magic Pointer and Flow on her Googlebook to transform her ideas into beautiful films. ✨

Mobile scams are getting trickier to spot, but Android has new enhanced protections that actively intercept threats before they can harm you. Powered by the best of Google AI, these defense capabilities are safeguarding your device across incoming calls, texts, and chat messages. Learn more:

RT @MishaalRahman: 💻Hey Googlebook fam, how are you liking your new laptop? I know it takes a minute to get used to a brand new device, so here's a few helpful tips about some things you might not be aware of 🧵👇

RT @ssamat: It was great catching up with Henry Cavill at the Googlebook Opening Night in NYC! Beyond being a fantastic actor, anyone who knows Henry knows he is a massive tech enthusiast and gamer. And he’s a long-time Android user, too! So when we started talking about what’s possible with Googlebook, a premium laptop for the Android community, we immediately hit it off. That’s why I’m so excited about our new partnership. Henry is teaming up with us to explore the potential of this new platform by building his personal passion projects using Googlebook. Having his unique perspective as both a builder and a player is going to be super helpful as we push the limits of what these machines can do. I can't wait to see what he creates! Huge thanks to everyone who made last night’s event in New York such a memorable milestone for Googlebook.

RT @MishaalRahman: 💻Awesome video from Dieter highlighting the ways your Android phone & Googlebook work seamlessly together! My favorite thing about this integration is the creative things you can do with Magic Pointer using your phone's files. Take a photo from your phone, open it on your Googlebook, and add other images/links/text to your prompt. I used this to quickly help me visualize what some new posters would look like on a wall in my apartment.
