You know #Java16's records. You maybe also know Lombok's @Data and #Kotlin's data classes. They're all just boilerplate-avoiders, right?
Wrong. Records are all about something else and that makes them better* than the other two.
Just saw that #Java16 may (!) deprecate constructors (for removal!) of and synchronization on value-based classes ( - compiler would warn on both lines:
var i = new Integer(0);
synchronize (i) { }

Do you find java too verbose?
Check Records in #Java16, we don't need to write constructor, accessors, equals, hashCode, and toString for the record classes.

Inspections help you to use the new features in Java. E.g it can show you places you can use Pattern Matching for instanceof (#Java16), and how to migrate an existing if/else statement to use Pattern Matching for switch (#Java17 preview feature)

Tip of the day 💡
☕️ Records were available as a preview feature in Java 14, but have been released in #Java16.
They allow creating immutable, data-only classes, where all fields are by default private and final. There is no need to manually create toString/equals/hashCode. 👇
Check out this screencast to know more about how #IntelliJIDEA supports the latest language features in #Java16 - Records, PatternMatching for instanceof, & Sealed Types.
It also covers why you shouldn't miss these important features as Java developers.
