#EffectiveJava by @joshbloch is such a great, practical book and a must read for every java developer. Nothing has improved my understanding of the language as much as doing code reviews with the book opened next to me and diving into endless rabbit holes.

I'm currently reading "Effective Java" 3rd Ed. It's one of the best programming books I've ever read, but something incredible happened: I found an error that's not reported in the errata! @joshbloch please keep reading for details. #java #programming #effectivejava

In the Java API, those 3 variants (DoubleToObjFunction, IntToObjFunction, LongToObjFunction) don't exist at all, they're covered by DoubleFunction, IntFunction, LongFunction. The ones that do exist and that @joshbloch missed are: ToDoubleFunction, ToIntFunction, ToLongFunction.

I already submitted my finding to the errata page in the publisher's website. Let's hope they fix it in new reprints. From my side, I'm thrilled that I found a bug in the Java best practices bible, I think that earns me some bragging rights :) #java #programming #effectivejava
