A compromised analytics script became a route into mobile espionage, Sekoia reports. Its new Poisoned Source investigation links the August–September Plerdy compromise to a broader campaign targeting unpatched iPhones and Android devices. * Compromised websites and lookalike sites profiled visitors before delivering exploit chains. * Payloads targeted browser sessions and other device data. * Sekoia assesses APT29 involvement with moderate-to-high confidence. Plerdy separately confirms unauthorized code in its tracker from August 27 to September 3, when it removed the code. It says it found no evidence that its clients' website-visitor data was taken. The number of successfully compromised phones remains unknown. This is new research into earlier activity, not a newly disclosed zero-day. #CyberEspionage #MobileSecurity
