RT @DavidMDrucker: Biggest misconception on Election Night (that leads to other misconceptions) is that no candidate takes or loses the lead. The winner is already decided; all the votes exist. It's just a matter of: In what order is the score, or rather votes, revealed? 1/ ...

RT @boltsmag: Democrats currently run state governments in 16 states and Republicans in 23; 11 states are split. What will be the breakdown after the 2026 midterms? It's one of the questions we break down in our elections guide, now available in a printable PDF:

Also true in Michigan—a possible dynamic in the Senate race.
    Alec Hernández @AlecAHernandez
Key thing to remember about SC elections is the straight-ticket voting option: one click & voters can cast their entire ballot for the party ticket instead of going by race A result like this would likely take a lot of folks foregoing that, but Rs still acknowledge a close race

But a reminder that RCV is on the ballot in Alaska again *right now*, and that if Alaskans retain it (as they did two years ago, this is a repeat), that's the system that will govern Lisa Murkowski's reelection bid in 2028.

Whoever wins, I also see the curtains falling on ranked-choice/top-four reforms. Rs are banning them wherever they can, and if they become "oh, that system Dems tried to use to screw with Alaska," even easier to do that.

RT @shaefaz: This is a very cool resource for election night. I appreciate that @boltsmag & @Taniel put this together and that they include local races every time they create one of these. National elections occupy so much of our attention, but local races matter most to our every day lives.

RT @Kellen_Browning: SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

There’s been much discourse on the Minnesota senate race but little public polling. NYT is 3rd nonpartisan pollster to test it this fall, & finds Flanagan up 54/40. Other NYT Senate polls: —South Carolina: 48/48 —Florida: Moody 50/44. Also: Suffolk has Brown 47/44 in OH.
