A crucial lesson from #OperationSindoor is the need to have a much more robust & multi-layered #AirAndMissileDefence grid, with the focus being on indigenous interceptors & directed energy weapons. It was a limited 88-hour conflict & Indian airspace is far from being impregnable.

India needs to do much more to make its airspace less vulnerable. The challenge during #OperationSindoor was limited. I take a comprehensive look at the existing #AirAndMissileDefence network, the plans & what needs to be done. My piece: @TheFederal_News

Another important lesson is the efficacy of long-range precision-strike weapons, with surge capacity for protracted wars. There is a need for an #IntegratedRocketForce, with a mix of advanced conventional cruise & ballistic missiles, along with long-range guided rocket systems.

India must expedite the creation of a dedicated #IntegratedRocketForce.While such a force, with adequate reserves, will require significant capital investments, the strategic calculus is simple: deterrence is always much cheaper than actual war. My piece:
