The action is insanely brutal and entertaining. Hand-to-hand combat, bloody fights and unexpected twists keep the adrenaline high. Some subplots and writing choices feel unnecessary, though.(3/4)

A horrifying creature of metal and wood, stood before them, with grotesque statues and the faces of suffering House Elves lining Dumbledore's abomination before, God. "It is Dobby." Dumbledore said with a youthful excitement. "I transfigured Dobby into this Pipe Organ, Harry." in a demonstration Dumbledore lay his hands upon the keys. As he did so, the Organ howled an evil note as moaning wails of pain and anguish sung out. The suffering house elf faces carved into the devil's organ joined along in a mournful choir of suffering. "It is an exceptional creation Harry, a monument of eternal suffering created from and specifically for Dobby, his own Hell on earth." Dumbledore said calmly with a twinkle in his eye.

The way that people are furious at me for saying that boys should read romantasy is actually hilarious. But also I think it’s telling that any fantasy book with a FMC gets classified as “romantasy” in the first place.

It’s not about if boys want to read Hatchet. First of all, school reading lists are dominated by male authors and protagonists. Second of all, it’s the presenting books in a gendered binary that is the problem. Maybe your son could stand to read some romantasy idk!!!!

We aren't interested in your shitty porno love triangle subplots. If an author wants boys to read, they have the responsibility to try to appeal to the boys as a primary audience. It isn't the audience's responsibility to enjoy an author's content. It is the author who must write well polished literature.

#MakeMeTingle just quietly snuck in towards the end of the year to remind kdramaland how to do a good romcom. Smart script, great acting, amazing chemistry and no unnecessary drama or stupid nonsensical subplots. Definitely one of my faves of the year.
