Exciting news!! I’ve been awarded support from @ace_national to develop my curatorial research and practice over the next year. I’ll be exploring two main threads: -How are public-private partnerships, philanthropy, and patronage reshaping the cultural infrastructures that support artists? -How are emerging technologies reshaping artistic practice, collaboration, and aesthetics? If you’re working across museums, technology, philanthropy, cultural policy or research, I’d love to connect, collab, and exchange ideas. @thebyteproject will be changing and evolving over the next few months 👀

RT @aishdoingthings: funny how you almost always HAVE to be a scientist by background to run a scientific r&d org whereas in the arts you can be an appreciator of art and never have practiced as an artist to run an art r&d org

I’ve been thinking a lot about what would give me the most purpose in life, and I think it’s making sure that art institutions continue to have the funds to host beautiful exhibitions of exquisite Etruscan sculpture

As everyone runs towards institutions, I thinks it critical to consider what is even in the conversation and what do they support and serve

I just wrote the worst essay of my life. 2000 words, but I wrote it. Does anyone else feel like they are needing to reteach themselves on how to write?

RT @LouisElton96: I have very exciting news. Thanks to a generous gift from @patrickc, the Cræft Prize is growing to £110,000. My March open call for artisan-innovators fusing the wisdom of craft with cutting-edge technology sparked a flood of excellent submissions. In early 2027, we will host an awards ceremony, exhibition, and conference exploring how craft can breathe soul and beauty into the machine. Read all about it 👇

RT @delta_alpha_ohm: Very grateful to see this project by @frogspitsimulat come to life and this question from @proofofgail - feels more prescient than ever and what is written in this article by Nick is almost foretold by explorations that Nakamura has done along with many other researchers

interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works

RT @michaelspalter: Every artist who has ever sat behind a screen wondering if their pixels, code, or digital canvasses held the same weight as paint and stone—this is the answer. This moment isn’t just a personal triumph for the late @vera_molnar_official ; it’s a seismic shift. Congrats @V_and_A
