    Data Analysis Learning - Part 2 Learning SQL GM guys 👋 Hope you’re good. Today, I practiced aggregate functions using practice questions from the SQL video I’m learning from. The first question gave me some trouble, but I solved it after taking a long break.

    Data Analysis Learning - Part 2 Learning SQL GM guys 👋 Hope you’re good. Today was a very lazy day, but I’m still here 🫠. I learned about JOINS in SQL. There are four types of joins. I’ll explain the ones I learned using Table A and Table B. From my understanding:

    3️⃣ INNER JOIN Returns only values that exist in both Table A and Table B. If a value isn’t present in both tables, it won’t be returned. There’s one more join that I didn’t learn today. I’ll continue from this in tomorrow’s lesson.

    From my understanding, NULL values represent empty cells or fields. Fields that contain nothing at all, not even spaces (like ' '). In general, 0 is greater than NULL, but in some arithmetic operations, NULL can be treated as zero depending on how the operation is handled.

    FULL OUTER JOIN This join returns all the values you want from both Table A and Table B, even when there’s no matching or related value between the tables. That’s what I learned today. Still learning 🌱 Still growing

    After Excel, I took a short break, started and completed posting my Data Analyst 2026 Roadmap thread series, and then moved on to SQL. I started learning SQL on January 14th, but paused briefly to finish the DA roadmap thread series. I picked SQL back up on the 21st.

    💡 SQL learning: Solving a “Repeated Payments” problem. The goal: find payments made at the same merchant, with the same card & amount, within 10 minutes. The key was comparing each transaction with the previous matching transaction. That’s where LAG() comes in. 👇

    @ImShriJoshi
    The mental model: GROUP → SORT → LAG → TIME DIFF → FILTER → COUNT LAG() = find the previous row. Key takeaway: whenever a SQL problem says “compare the current row with the previous row”, think LAG(). Small concepts → big improvements. 🚀 #SQL #LearningSQL #100DaysOfCode
