Source was the middle step. Binary was the destination. AI is learning to arrive without the ladder. #00101010AI #AI #MachineCode 00101010 is 42. 00101010 is also * — the wildcard that can wear any instruction. That is the name: 00101010 .AI

This is exactly right. Source code is on the verge of becoming like assembly. The next step is getting rid of “source code” entirely and just making an efficient binary directly with AI.

Is assembly language knowledge a good thing? #retrocomputing #machinecode

Do developers still need to know assembly language in this day and age? Larry @osterman gives us his opinion. What do you think? Does knowing assembly still help you in your day to day application development? How often has knowing assembly helped you? #FridayFun

@aryaman2020 @samopriya When I was younger in the #Eighties I have written small programs in #AssemblyLanguage & I know the instruction set for the 8086 intel processor. I can read code & have occasionally tried to understand what an undocumented fragment of code does, starting with the #Debug command.

@aryaman2020 @samopriya Of course, nowadays I use higher lever programming languages (I currently write code in #XSLT when needed) but #StilliWonder: «How could I ever read the #MachineCode contained in 1 Mb executable file REMEMBERING how long it took to CRACK a few hundred bytes of code?»
