Partial cellular #reprogramming modulates downstream epigenetic states and rejuvenates cellular phenotypes, yet it cannot identify the upstream root trigger that drives aging. If this root cause persists, new degenerative changes will still occur. 5/6 Can an LLM improve another LLM? We simply asked Astra to make Qwen3.5-0.8B better at math. Astra saw Qwen get stuck in reasoning loops, which is a known issue that Qwen’s own model card warns about (see their official model card). With a budget of 50 forward passes on practice problems, it located the cause and edited it out. This used no gradients or training. Fixing these loops by editing just 0.016% of weights boosted other capabilities beyond math too!

6/6 We think neural network weights will soon be natively optimized by LLMs that deliberately reason about the weights. We are now building a benchmark to evaluate, and a harness to help LLMs explore and write weights.

This is the Sega Saturn CartDev (Rev.A) development kit released by Sega of America. (Circa ~1995)😎🤘 The CartDev “Rev.A” model as shown here; was the first release of this kit. It reportedly had power-supply problems and was quickly replaced with the Rev.B model by Cross Products. This kit was the successor to the Sophia Systems Programming Box making it the last official development kit for the Sega Saturn. Setting studios back by about ~$4,800 USD vs. ~$7,500 for the Sophia Systems Programming Box. It was designed as a more accessible option after Sega took over Cross Products. The system interfaced to a modified Saturn console via the cartridge slot, using an extended cartridge board. The modified Saturn provided a NMI interface cable, a VCD (Virtual CD) port for CD emulation as well as a selectable region switch. Connection to a development PC was established using a High-speed SCSI-2 interface through an Adaptec SCSI card. The CartDev had its own RISC processor to handle communications and not overload the Saturn’s dual SH-2 CPUs. The kit supported NMI’s providing a very robust debugging environment. This was one of the main official environments used during the Saturn’s commercial life cycle for development. Full high-end setups (including ICE emulators, CD systems, sound tools, etc.) cost tens of thousands of dollars in the mid-1990s.
