Learnt about Functions today. Functions allow for a set of commands to be executed one at a time instead of typing each commands repeatedly. Excited, i decided to try it out by writing a basic script that helps create multiple file by just inputting the file name #learninglinux

Every Linux journey starts with three commands. I used them for a while until they became muscle memory. pwd — Print Working Directory Tells you where you are. Like "you are here" on a map. pwd # /home/ubuntu ls — List Shows files and folders in the current directory.

ls # simple list ls -la # detailed list including hidden files cd — Change Directory Moves you to another folder. cd /etc # go to /etc cd .. # go up one level cd ~ # go to home directory cd - takes you back to the previous directory.

I was confused by Linux paths until I learned the difference between absolute and relative. Absolute path: starts with /. Always the same regardless of where you are. /var/log/syslog /home/ubuntu/project Relative path: doesn't start with /. Depends on where you are.

If you're confused about where you are, run pwd before typing a path. Then use absolute paths to be safe. Once you're comfortable, relative paths save typing. If you’re looking to go into cloud/DevOps, click the link below for a free guide.
