Comments By @NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman @NASAAdmin At Kennedy Space Center On 23 October 2026 It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to Kennedy Space Center for an update on the Artemis Program. Thank you to for joining us today, and to the extraordinary workforce here at Kennedy and across NASA, our industry and international partners, who are making everything we will discuss today possible. Now, let us go back in time ...some 58 years ago. It is October 1968 and just hours ago, the Apollo 7 astronauts splashed down from the first crewed mission of the Apollo program. Now, the Saturn V for Apollo 8 is already assembled and sitting out at Launch Complex 39A. And in less than two months, that mission will fly, sending Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders into lunar orbit. In the Vehicle Assembly Building, the Saturn V for Apollo 9 is already waiting, and the lunar module, the LEM for Apollo 10, has already been delivered. And in the midst of all that mission activity, nine months from now, the Eagle will land, and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin will walk on the Moon. Now, of course, it is no secret that NASA was playing our part in a rivalry between two superpowers. It was a different time, with extraordinary national resources committed to the objective. But we also knew so very little, with so much less technology to aid in our efforts and no experience operating beyond low Earth orbit. And yet, in that remarkably short span of time, the ambitions of generations, once confined to the pages of science fiction became humanity's greatest achievement. And for the first time in billions of years, life born on Earth would set foot upon another world. Full text of comments @NASAArtemis #NASA @NASAKennedy

RT @Rep_Whitesides: Breaking news: New emails shine a light on the administration’s decision to cancel science grants — and raise questions of if they intentionally misled Congress in the process. This summer, I pressed the White House Science Advisor on whether political appointees were involved in cutting science grants. He denied it. Now, we have emails showing White House staff were involved. We need answers about why these grants were canceled and accountability for those responsible.

RT @SETIInstitute: What happens when teachers get to experience science at 45,000 feet? ✈️🔭 Through the SETI Institute's NASA-funded Airborne Astronomy Ambassadors program, educators flew aboard NASA's SOFIA airborne observatory, working alongside scientists, engineers, and mission teams to bring authentic research experiences back to their classrooms. And the impact went far beyond the flight. A WestEd evaluation found that students taught with the program's astronomy curriculum scored 5–7% higher on a science assessment than students receiving standard instruction. The curriculum ultimately reached more than 64,000 students! WestEd looks back at the program's legacy, featuring insights from the SETI Institute's Coral Clark and Dana Backman. RT @NASAAdmin: It was a great day at the White House with President Trump and the talented crew of Artemis III 🇺🇸 The Artemis III crew is led by Commander Randy Bresnik, Pilot Luca Parmitano, and Mission Specialists Andre Douglas and Frank Rubio with Bob Hines backing them up. It is clear @POTUS is the force behind a new era of American leadership in space. His policies include the Artemis program, the Artemis Accords, now signed by 78 nations, and the United States Space Force. Of course, the United States Space Academy is coming soon. With the resources provided to @NASA in the WFTCA, we were able to approach our return to the Moon the right way. We added the Artemis III mission and will now be able to establish humankind’s first outpost on another world, the Moon Base, with its first robotic mission just weeks away. We are rebuilding the workforce and core capabilities at NASA Centers, taking control of our destiny--we are building again. With SR-1 Freedom, we will finally get America underway on nuclear power in space, what should be the dawn of a Nuclear NASA. I am grateful every day to serve as NASA Administrator and to see the talent across our workforce, industry, and international partners changing the world. Together, we are leading the way on the greatest adventure in human history.

RT @SpaceHumanity: Space exploration is entering a new chapter. 🌎 At our Celestial Soirée last week, we were proud to announce the creation of the world's first-ever Citizen Space Agency. We’re expanding our mission to make space more accessible to everyone, and building a new generation of Citizen Astronauts: researchers, educators, innovators, and maybe even YOU. People who will go farther, discover more, and bring what they learn back to Earth to make a difference.

Very sad to hear this. When I worked for the 1980 Brown for President Campaign all over the U.S. I learned my organizing skills (which led directly to NASAWatch 😀) from a dozen or so UFW @UFWupdates folks. We always ended our daily organizing meetings with the UFW clap. I met Dolores several times and she is exactly how @RepZoeLofgren describes her. All pride, no shame - ¡Orgullo, no vergüenza!

I’m deeply sad to hear about the passing of Dolores Huerta, a friend and legend in the farmworkers’ movement. Her work and her vision transformed our country, especially here in her home state of California. She embodied the spirit of the movement with her phrase that will live on for generations: Sí Se Puede. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who loved her.

Posted by Achintya Bairat from @NASAJohnson over on Facebook. "Many of us have been alive for less time than the ISS has been in space. In that time we saw 290+ people, 4000+ experiments, and over 27 years of continuous human presence in space. In the early 2030s ISS will be decommissioned, marking the conclusion of a chapter where humans dared to live among the stars. This however is far from the end. As this chapter closes we mark a new beginning going deeper into the universe starting with the Moon, with Moon Base representing a new monument of human ingenuity, capability, and courage. To this ISS 🚀🚀 #nasa #iss #spacestation #space #artemis @NASAAdmin
