Hungary’s new government is facing a serious warning from conservative scientists and engineers over its energy policy direction and the risks of following Brussels’ green agenda.
As the new government reviews the Paks II nuclear project and seeks to reduce reliance on Russian energy, concerns are growing among conservative experts about the consequences for Hungary’s energy security.
The Batthyány Society of Professors (PBK), an established Hungarian association of conservative university professors and researchers, together with engineers and energy experts, has issued five recommendations to protect the country’s energy supply.
Their central warning to the new government: blindly following Brussels’ flawed energy policies could seriously jeopardize Hungary’s reliable and uninterrupted energy supply.
According to these experts, the EU’s forced green transition, in its current form, is technically unrealistic. Hungary’s energy policy must follow the laws of physics, national circumstances and the interests of Hungarian people, not left-wing ideological ambitions.
Their five key recommendations:
1️⃣ Prioritize nuclear power and reliable energy sources.
2️⃣ Stop forcing wind and solar expansion. Weather-dependent electricity generation already creates serious challenges for grid stability.
3️⃣ Develop renewables suited to Hungary’s natural conditions including geothermal energy, biomass and hydropower.
4️⃣ Listen to engineers, not ideologues. Energy strategies must be based on scientific expertise and technical realities rather than political expectations.
5️⃣ Ensure abundant, secure and affordable energy. Competitive industry, a functioning economy and Hungarian families depend on reliable supplies.
THE GLOBAL REALITY SHOULD ALSO BE A WARNING TO BRUSSELS.
Fossil fuels still provided 86.2% of global primary energy in 2025, while wind and solar combined accounted for just 3.3%.
Despite Europe’s accelerated green ambitions, the world remains overwhelmingly dependent on conventional energy sources.
The message to Hungary’s new government is clear: the country’s energy security must not become an ideological experiment to satisfy Brussels.
Physics cannot be overruled by political decisions.
Indeed, through their arrogance, anti-Russian psychosis & pathological lying about every aspect of their proxy war in Ukraine, the Europeans have EARNED their exclusion from negotiations…

I think it is not a big deal that Iran hasn't received any Su-35s yet.
So far, Russia has only completed some 20 airframes for Iran, not the full order.
If these limited numbers were to be delivered to Iran now and destroyed immediately at the beginning of the next round of the Iran Wars, then all the waiting, training hours, and money will have gone to waste.
Ideally, Iran's full, complete order would be delivered in bulk, which would make a gigantic difference in the air war. Iran ordered between 48 and 72 total airframes. The US and Israel mustered up around 200-300 combat aircraft for the Ramadan War, most of which never entered Iranian airspace whatsoever. 72 Su-35s, combined with the rest of the Iranian Air Force and Air Defense network, would be a massive game-changer in the aerial balance of power. These airframes can cover many AD blind spots and intercept incoming US and Israeli cruise missiles, drones, etc., or even engage hostile aircraft that venture too close. US and Israeli F-16s, F-15s, or F/A-18s are all very vulnerable. Even the F-35, as we saw in the war, is vulnerable to IR-guided weapons.

What happened is that the ever-horrendous Von Der Leyen literally improvised the offer into her speech - it wasn't in her prepared remarks ( - without consulting member states before, several of which were understandably furious, all the more because the term has no legal meaning.
Hard to overstate the sheer level of amateurism: we're used to the EU commission not giving a damn about what European citizens think - that's standard - but skipping the 27 governments is a whole new level.
And this is all the more absurd that Von Der Leyen, as per European treaties, has zero business doing foreign policy in the first place.
Long story short, the end result, which could be the slogan for the EU as a whole these days, is that nobody's happy and the EU ridiculed itself on the world stage.
