DMCA / Copyright
If you hold the copyright to something shown on Lurkbird and you want it taken down, send us a written notice. This page explains how.
What a takedown notice must include
To act on a notice, we need all of the following. An incomplete notice may slow things down or be rejected.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- The copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The exact URL on lurkbird.com where the material appears, with enough detail for us to find it.
- Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner.
Where to send it
Email your notice to [email protected]. Put your legal name in the message. We may reply to confirm or ask for anything missing.
What happens next
- We review the notice and check the URL you gave us.
- If the notice is complete and looks valid, we remove or disable access to the page it points at.
- Where we can, we let the person who posted the content know, so they have a chance to respond.
If your content was removed
If you believe we removed your content by mistake or because of a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice. It must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before we removed it.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is located (or, if you live outside the United States, any judicial district in which Lurkbird may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
Send counter-notices to [email protected].
Lurkbird does not host or store image or video files. Images and video are loaded directly from X's servers. A takedown here removes the Lurkbird page that links to them; it does not remove anything from X itself. This page describes our process; it is not legal advice.
