!!!! First day of our new podcast, America Actually (w/ Astead Herndon). It's going to be about the upcoming elections and America's road to a post-Trump future. But as we got started I wanted to write something about why I landed on that theme and what I saw as the our mission in a landscape of a lot of media choices

🚨 Vibe-reading the election with @PabloTorre! The journalist joins America Actually to examine how the themes of the midterms (elite impunity, Trump’s culture of grift) have shown up in sports and culture Watch:

Brooklyn! Midterms party tomorrow in Greenpoint Tickets:

RT @Kellen_Browning: SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

#BreakingTheDeadlock, tonight on @PBS

Tonight on @PBS, watch #BreakingTheDeadlock — hosted by Aaron Tang Here’s a clip:

RT @AngieNixon: It’s disappointing to have to say this, but @CBSNews, this is a serious failure of editorial reporting. I clearly state in this clip that while I have not personally been to Cuba, I have spoken with Cubans who have described it as a dictatorship, and I believe them. To claim I declined to answer the question is categorically false. That is not journalism. It is misinformation.

Inconsistent to believe the premier league is the best league itw and dismiss Harry Kane. Choose a struggle

RT @SpursOfficial: A legacy built in the Spurs academy. Forever one of our own 🤍

This means something to me !!

HARRY KANE IS THE NEW BALLON D'OR! #ballondor

🚨By far, our most-asked listener question about the midterms wasn't who's going to win. It was whether the election will be fair, and whether every vote will be counted. So we called @swerenbecker of @BrennanCenter to talk voting rights! All the ways the White House has tried to influence the November elections, and all the ways Trump may still sow doubt about the results. RT @rcobooth: a great, detailed @realcpaz dive into Adam Hamilton, and bigger questions about the Democratic Party and religious voters more broadly

This week’s newsletter: I wrote about the GOPs strategy of Islamophobia has been aided by Democrats and the press. And I find the lack of pushback not only immoral but shortsighted. We either all have a place in democracy or we don’t. And the forces seeking to marginalize their place in the American project will likely expand to others On @voxdotcom:

Why do people say Jesus H Christ. What does it stand for. What is his middle name

Looks like all those nights at Harp & Sham (RIP 😢) paid off. Thanks for the love, @MarquetteU! Full article:

RT @TylerDeLuca: If you're a basketball fan I simply don't know how you watch the Playoffs that Angel Reese has had without wanting to run through a brick wall This is ELECTRIC. The type of hoops that makes you FEEL SOMETHING.

RT @CHSN_Bulls: "I know exactly who he was, I know what his gift could do, and I know that we were all just a little happier, a little better off, for getting to hear the song...for as long as we did." @adamamin gives a touching tribute to his late partner, Stacey King ❤️

Senator @ElissaSlotkin is facing fierce backlash, including from President Trump, after comments about holding Trump’s enablers accountable and a strategy of “deterrence” made during our live podcast at @UChiPolitics Ironically, she spoke about the impact of being targeted by Trumpworld in the same discussion. Here, she details the onslaught of threats she received the last time the president called for her criminal prosecution Watch:

RT @Alyssafarah: Hand on my heart, my first day at the White House, Trump asked me if I knew what the H stood for. I said no. He said Horatio. I think about that at least once a week. 😭
