RT @charlesarthur: Amazing: journalist does journalism to discover something, and because everyone is so used to people living by press release, they literally can't believe the journalist found it out on their own.
When I received a message from a former Trump administration official in August, asking me to meet with his team at a prestigious think-tank, I never could have imagined I was conversing with an Iranian intelligence agent.
It was the start of a two-month sting - described by ASIO chief Mike Burgess as "sophisticated and targeted" - that ended with the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps gaining access to my personal emails and details in a major security breach.
The message from a former senior Trump administration contact I forged through my Wuhan reporting, who has a prominent profile with hundreds of thousands of followers, came on August 18 this year.
I had worked with him on my investigation into the origins of Covid-19. I trusted him and had met him in person during one of his visits to Australia.
Unbeknownst to either of us, his genuine X account had been infiltrated by an Iranian operative, using the ‘delegate feature’ on X, which gives a third party access to manage and operate your account.

RT @sikorskiradek: No, @elonmusk, the U.S. stopped funding Ukraine last year. In fact, U.S. companies make money on American weapons for which we Europeans pay.
The more you meddle in our politics and the more you play politics with your products, the more you damage your brand.

And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!

RT @francisjfarrell: I've been in those trenches every month or two for the last four years.
People are tired, they miss their families, they have their frustrations.
But they are there, still holding the line, with full clarity that if they let go, Russia and its tyranny will come to their homes.

What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people.
The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

Two bystanders, including a television reporter, rescued a driver from a sinking car trapped in floodwaters in Morayfield, Australia, on Thursday.
Australian Broadcasting Corporation reporter Will Murray and another man jumped into the water and swam towards the vehicle to help the trapped driver.

This is a very disturbing account and good on @SharriMarkson for setting it all out.
It reminds me again why I do not use X for private messages.

Interesting comment on my article today. I don’t agree — I spoke to Parisians who are shocked and angry at the looting and pointless damage.
They do not think it’s just another protest.
