RT @DevanaUkraine: A Russian bot forgot to switch its account from MAGA to "Ukrainian." 😀 This is how Russians simulate public opinion and pressure politicians into adopting a pro-Russian stance—leading them to believe that this is what their electorate demands. That is why it is important to express your position openly.

RT @Ldnbox: Sundar, Sundar, my friend, with respect, a benchmark table is not a comeback. You invented the transformer. You had DeepMind, TPUs, YouTube, Search, Android, Gmail, and 3 billion Chrome users before anyone outside SF knew what an LLM was. You had every advantage a company could have. And yet in late 2026, when a developer opens a terminal, it isn’t Gemini. When a founder builds an agent, it isn’t Gemini. When my non-tech friends say “I asked the AI,” they don’t mean Gemini. That’s the scoreboard that matters, and Google is losing it.

I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model. Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching. We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards. As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

RT @svpino: It is 2022 all over again!. Back then, developers on this site (including me) said it was literally impossible for AI models to write working code. Now, people know writing code is solved*, so they're moving to the next frontier: reviewing code is impossible!
    Luca Spinazzola @Luca_Spinazzola
It's insane you and others say this with a straight face. You realize code reviews are the hardest part to do well (not bs reviews that only look at surface level charges and auto click merge). Non-trivial/large reviews are the hardest part of software development that require actual intelligence and a huge amount of context as a "review" requires the ability to think critically... A good reviewer also has the ability to consider if a pr could just flat out be implemented better in a different or simpler way. Current agents are terrrrrible this especially in large codebases. It's is an impossible task unless you have full agi or a something capable of novel thoughts. LLMs flat out today do not have enough context to be able to do complex code reviews well. Making a good llm based reviewer will never work for literally the same reasons LeCun says LLMs can't further scale.

RT @alexolegimas: This is one of the most important pieces of social science on human and AI interaction that I’ve seen in some time. Experts follow agentic advice the vast majority of the time (causally), but only a tiny fraction credit the agent—majority think they came to decision on their own volition. Reminds me of the classic Nisbett and Wilson study on people following outside influence without realizing it “ But as more work is handed to AI—including AI safety research—these judgment calls are the main levers for people's own values to influence outcomes. If people defer to AI without noticing, then "human in the loop" might provide less assurance than people expect.”

RT @LizWebsterSBF: ‼️ Britain has spent years desperately searching for a growth strategy while refusing to confront the enormous economic barrier we erected ourselves. Now the FT Economics Editor asks whether @andyburnham may finally be “stumbling towards a pro-growth policy that actually shifts the dial”. Reintegrating Britain with the European economy. Goldman Sachs estimates: Customs union: around +1% GDP Single Market: around +2–5% GDP The OBR estimates Brexit itself has reduced Britain’s potential productivity by 4%. And the really interesting part is that I nvestors are starting to sit up and pay attention. This is why the argument that reopening Britain’s relationship with Europe simply creates another “dust cloud of uncertainty” gets it backwards. Brexit created barriers, uncertainty and lost investment. Undoing Brexit is the biggest pro-growth reform available to Britain. Fixing Brexit may turn out to be Burnham’s growth strategy. 🇬🇧🇪🇺

RT @LLMJunky: This is fascinating. As it turns out, when you stop making benchmarks public, open models perform significantly worse. For me, Deepseek 4.1 Flash and GLM 5.3 have been an incredible revelation, these models are sooo good. But when these labs/people start trying to sell me the idea that we have "Fable at home" and that "China caught up" I just can't help but roll my eyes. I want there to be Opus 5.5 at home so badly, but the narrative spinning is so unhelpful. We've gotten to a point where we basically ignore almost every benchmark. Really hope this is a new leaf where we can start to put a little more stock in the results.

Hope in the fight against cancer. Moderna and Merck’s personalised mRNA treatment reduced melanoma recurrence or death when added to Keytruda after surgery in a positive phase 3 trial. But an overall-survival benefit is not yet established. Detailed results are now available, and US availability could follow in 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
    Shining Science @ShiningScience
A new cancer vaccine could reach patients as soon as 2027. Moderna and Merck have announced that their personalized cancer vaccine, intismeran autogene, succeeded in a phase 3 trial of 1,137 people with high-risk melanoma. Each dose is made from scratch for a single patient. Doctors sequence the patient's tumor, find the mutations that make it different from healthy tissue, and build an mRNA vaccine that trains the immune system to hunt cells carrying those exact flags. Given alongside the immunotherapy drug Keytruda, it significantly lowered the chance of the cancer returning or spreading compared with Keytruda alone. Phase 3 is the final stage of testing before approval, and this is the first time a personalized mRNA cancer vaccine has cleared it. In an earlier, smaller trial, the combination cut the risk of recurrence or death by 49% over five years. The companies haven't released exact phase 3 figures, and survival data aren't in yet, but they're now talking to regulators. Moderna says patients could receive it as early as 2027 if reviews go well. source: Moderna, Inc., & Merck & Co., Inc. (2026). Intismeran autogene in combination with KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) meets primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival in phase 3 trial in high-risk melanoma

RT @LizWebsterSBF: ‼️ This FT chart tells the energy story. Britain has transformed its electricity mix. Coal has virtually disappeared. Wind and solar have surged. Yet gas still plays an outsized role and because gas often sets the marginal electricity price, a geopolitical shock in the gas market can still push up bills across the whole system. 🔥 This is the trap. We have partly decarbonised generation without fully decarbonising price formation. @JohnHealey_MP now appears to understand that. Removing standing charges may help at the margin, but the bigger prize is breaking Britain’s exposure to volatile global gas prices, investing in grids, storage, renewables and secure domestic generation, and ending the absurd situation where cheap renewable power can still be priced off expensive gas 👉 and reconnecting to the EU’s Internal Energy Market. Energy reform is cost-of-living policy, industrial policy and national security policy - and climate policy.
    Liz Webster @LizWebsterSBF
🚨 Scrapping green levies may shave bills now. But the real problem is still Britain’s exposure to volatile gas prices. The fix is cheaper renewables, storage, grid reform and reconnecting to the EU’s Internal Energy Market. Energy security is the route to permanently lower bills.
