Microduck from @pollenrobotics is adorable!
But most kids won’t be training policies 😁
That's why I made DuckBlocks: scratch-style blocks for their official sim!
For parents and teachers who want a coding intro with the cute robot 😊

Will humanoid robots have fingernails?
That's not something I've seen in robot hands yet,
but fingernails can be quite useful for some precise actions

I see how some people can watch flashy robot demos on the timeline and think with a shiver that the robot apocalypse is around the corner, but reality check:
There is no robot in the world that can change the batteries in a jack-o-lantern.
If you have a robot friendly door handle it might be able to walk outside, pick it up, and carry it back inside. The robot could open the drawer with your batteries in it, but then things get tough.
Opening the package of AA batteries?
Extracting a precision screwdriver from its case?
Unscrewing four tiny screws that require a hard press and twist?
Popping batteries out of the case?
Yes, you could build and train a specialist robot to do that today, but there is a very long way to go to replace the full range of human capabilities. Near term doomer scenarios should stop at “secretly controlling humanity” instead of “wiping humanity out” 😀

I always read that bio scientists aren't particularly code-savvy
The field might gain a decade of lost time in a few months
Only bottleneck will be physical experimentation - for a time

there will be within the next few years stunning advances in biology. there will whole new ways to think about what biological study even means. i would be only mildly surprised if there were near term solutions to problems like cancer, neurodegenerative disease, etc

Honey takes a great place in Slovenia's culture
I learned many things in Radovljica's museum!
Did you know bees can communicate pollen location and distance to their peers by dancing?! 😳
The legend says a bell made of silver and gold sank into the lake of Bled, Slovenia
Sometimes you can still hear it ring on quiet nights
Well I didn't hear it, but I sure did enjoy the sights!
And I rowed my first boat too!! 💪😅💪
Ljubljana is a very charming city!
Despite being the capital of Slovenia, it might be the only tourist-y place I could see myself live in
Very warm feelings, great green spaces, lovely sights!
My kids live in a world where:
- cars fly
- AGI is here
- rockets launch every two days
- people that lost speech can communicate again
Soon we'll get back to the moon, and have a robot in every home
Incredible!
And the same man is responsible for most of this!
