NATCA members gave U.S. Sen. Ted Budd of North Carolina a tour of the Raleigh-Durham ATCT and TRACON (RDU) on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026.

Eleven NATCA members recently completed Comprehensive Legislative Activism Training, gaining a deeper understanding of our legislative program. The four-day training took place Aug. 17-20 at the NATCA National Office in Washington, D.C.

Today, NATCA celebrates the International Day of the Controller, the observance honoring the vital work done by air traffic controllers around the world to keep the global airspace operating safely and efficiently.

Oakland Center (ZOA) FacRep and California State Coordinator Erik Mandt (ZOA), ZOA NATCA Vice President Heather Stein, and NATCA member Bryan Amezcua Sanchez (ZOA) gave U.S. Rep. Jimmy Panetta (Calif.-19) a tour of Oakland Center on Aug. 12.

The NATCA Onboarding Committee welcomes and thanks all new NATCA leaders who recently began serving as FacReps at their local facilities.

NATCA announced today that it has reached an agreement with the FAA to implement a 2.8% pay parity increase for eligible air traffic controllers. The increase takes effect Oct.18, 2026, and is retroactive to the first full pay period of 2026.

NATCA members Glenn Bloise (Erie ATCT, ERI) and Karyl Shaffer (Engineer/Eastern Region, EEA) recently gave U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (Pa.-16) and his staff a tour of Erie ATCT. Discussions during the visit focused on NATCA’s legislative priorities.

A calm day in Arizona took a turn when a pilot radioed air traffic control to report an engine failure. With no airport nearby, ATCs quickly worked to guide the plane to a safe landing spot.

During Hurricane Isaias, our members are working around the clock to ensure the flying public reaches their destinations safely. We do our best to mitigate delays when possible, but we never compromise on safety.
