Congratulations to Braxen McMahan from Sonoraville High School, the GHSF Daily/AJC Varsity State Player of the Week presented by Alfa Insurance! 🏈👏 Braxen, pictured here with Sonoraville’s head coach (far left), GHSFD’s Ted Langford (left) Alfa agent Philip Pulliam (Far right), delivered a standout performance to lead his team to a remarkable upset victory over LaFayette. He finished the night with five receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown, while also making a major impact on defense and special teams. Braxen blocked a field goal, recovered a fumble, recorded six solo tackles, and intercepted three passes, including a 60-yard pick-six that sealed the win for his team. @Alfa_Insurance

The deadline to request media credentials for softball and volleyball championships was Monday, October 26, at noon, and we’re unable to accept late requests. These deadlines must be followed so we can prepare gate staff and coordinate with the host facility. Since the beginning of the school year, we have shared reminders on our social media platforms and website about these deadlines and the updated guidelines for media personnel seeking approval. If a school has invited your service, please ask the school to add your name to its entry list along with its players and coaches. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a ticket to enter. Please do not harass or question gate workers about this process. They are following the approved names on the entry list and cannot make changes at the gate. Please note the upcoming deadlines: • Flag football: December 5, 2026, at noon • Tackle football: December 8, 2026, at noon
