RT @Mill_Moron: Bro if you actually have a problem with FPTP skewing results away from the popular vote, the solution is electoral reform, not gerrymandering lol

“Stack the deck” = adjusting the map so they don’t need to win by more than 8% in the popular vote to get a majority in a 2 party system.
RT @TheChaosWeeber: BC Cons first move is to flip off everyone under 40 by scrapping the liberalization of zoning which allowed for more housing.
How Very “free market” of them….. not
Outgoing Attorney General Niki Sharma says calling the election was a mistake and David Eby apologised to the outgoing caucus in a virtual meeting Tuesday. New 28 member opposition caucus is meeting now for the first time to discuss an interim leader. Eby wasn’t seen entering.

RT @pallasdata: We nailed Toronto. 🎯
Pallas final poll: Chow 53, Bradford 43
Actual result: Chow 54, Bradford 41.
First to publish. Most accurate. Within two points on every candidate.

So tired of this shit
We have provinces who refuse to listen to the Fed
We have cities who don't listen to the province
But yeah we're gonna take our orders from Brussels!

RT @joeydhansen: Really hope the BC Conservatives follow through on their promises to fix the economy because, as expensive as Vancouver is, Azim shouldn't have to work three jobs to get by.

After bonding over The BC War Room podcast on @sitkamedia, Michael Gardiner and I have come to the surprising realization that we don’t entirely hate each other…
So, I’m excited to share that I’m joining Micheal’s company, Current Public Affairs, as a Senior Partner!
I’m also continuing on as VP of AP Group & Principal of Public Opinion Canada Research — so busy days ahead!

Yes it's a bad decision to allow NIMBYs to decide
Zoning decisions shouldn't be local because when they are, NIMBY Boomers win

A bad decision to give a voice back to residents via their municipal governments? Victoria and Saanich both are prime examples of munis that hid behind these targets to avoid public debate. This is a win for regular people. The targets were unrealistic and wildly abused. #BCpoli

Welp it didn't take long for the first bad decision from this new government
Jesus Christ - watching the Alberta Leg committee on the boundaries change, @nenshi confirmed the UCP is going to split Lethbridge up (likely the four way split we saw in the minority maps) and the Calgary rural-urban split seats.
Shameful @ABDanielleSmith, dirty cheater. #ableg

I find it funny to see the reactions to the rate hike from the BoC
"A rate hike won't make oil cheaper!"
But in 2022, a lot of the 'experts' were adamant that the inflation was caused by supply shocks (instead of too much money). Yet they were all okay with rate hikes then...
RT @BenRabidoux: The Canadian government can't just give all temporary residents PR unless they want to permanently entrench this gender imbalance into our demographics.
It's pickle. This is what happens when temp residents skew overwhelmingly male and prior govt had no handle on the situation
Look at me holding 3 grand in my hand
It's smaller than I thought. Feels really nice but the interior matte screen is really shit. It really looks like a film on top that you'd need to remove
This isn't a FULL pension, stop it with this disinformation
If a MLA serves at least 6 years, they are eligible for the pension. But after only 6 years, they'd get 3.5% x 6 years= 21% of their salary when they turn 65
I hate this nonsense. This headline should get community noted. People will believe MLAs will get like 100k for the rest of their lives. This isn't the case.
The pension plan for MLAs is good but not amazing. They pay 11% and they get 3.5% for every year. As comparison, other public servants usually pay 9-10% (I pay 10.15% for instance) and get usually 1.8-2% a year. So it is in fact a more generous plan but they also get nothing if they don't do 6 years

British Columbia’s snap election was scheduled a day after a number of NDP MLAs qualified for a full pension.
