RT @foxnewspolitics: Republican lawmakers are eyeing a little-known congressional maneuver that could block Democratic Socialists of America members from being sworn into the House — even if they win their elections next week.
The move hinges on the oath of office. Lawmaker-elects must swear to uphold the Constitution before taking their seat. But under this procedure, any member-elect can challenge another's right to be sworn in by presenting evidence that person would not honor that oath. The DSA's own platform, which calls for scrapping the current Constitution and drafting a new one, could serve as that evidence.
Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital he's considering invoking the challenge. Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., has already said he plans to use it against incoming Rep. Darializa Avila Chevalier. The move would face serious legal headwinds — the Supreme Court ruled in 1969 that the House cannot exclude an elected member who meets constitutional age, residency, and citizenship requirements.

RT @BradWilcoxIFS: Is there a religious reversal among America's youngest adults?
New Pew: Youngest adults (18–22) are more religious than those just a few years older (23-26):
✅ Attend services: 41% vs. 27%
✅ Pray daily: 34% vs. 26%
✅ Religion very important: 36% vs. 27%
Their attendance even tops the national average (33%).
RT @saveaustintx: This POS judge Brad Urrutia just approved DA Garza’s pleas deal giving a guy probation for driving drunk at 103 mph and hitting and killing a firefighter and father. This guy lives in a neighborhood in your community and should be insulted and shamed at every opportunity 🤬

UPDATE: Public court records show how the man who killed a Killeen fire captain at 103 mph walked away with probation.
Travis County case D-1-DC-25-203714 shows a "negotiated plea," a plea deal made with Travis County District Attorney José Garza's office. The driver pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle, a second-degree felony that carries up to 20 years in prison.
The case was handled in the 450th District Court, where Democrat Brad Urrutia is the elected judge. On Oct. 26, the case closed with a conviction and probation. No prison.
Records also show his bond was revoked and he was jailed twice this year while the case was pending. He still got probation.
A father of five is gone. His kids will grow up without him. The DA's office cut a deal, the court signed off, and the man responsible goes home.
That's Travis County justice, and it's why who we elect matters. Hold these soft on crime prosecutors accountable.

AUSTIN MAN walks up to a couple in the parking lot outside Macy's at The Domain on Sunday afternoon, shoots the man multiple times, then forces woman into a car, and drives off with her.
Leonel Galvan Hernandez was out on bond for another aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when he did it.
Sheriff's deputies arrested him for that one in February. A judge set bond at $5,000 and issued an emergency protective order. He was back out two days after his arrest.
Then the case sat. The protective order expired in June. Eight months later, DA Jose Garza's office still hasn't indicted him. The case has been pushed to a sixth pre-indictment setting, scheduled for Nov. 18.
The male victim at the Domain survived after being rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman was later found unharmed.
Two arrests for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in eight months. Zero indictments. Then one man shot and a woman kidnapped at a shopping mall.
