Next week is our last legislative week of the year and our last chance to preserve access to life-saving care for our constituents. It's time for Republicans to join Democrats to extend the ACA tax credits and save health care access for millions of Americans.

It was great to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Chapanoke, a new affordable housing development here in Raleigh! The number one issue I hear about from my constituents is the rising cost of housing. I will keep working to make sure that the people who contribute to our community every day can afford to live here.

This Sunday, I celebrated Día de los Muertos with Revista Latina NC. I was grateful to join our Latin American community in Raleigh to celebrate this beautiful tradition honoring our loved ones.

When Kathleen went to pick up her prescription, she was shocked to hear that her Medicare Part D plan was terminated. She only owed $14, but now she's unable to get her benefits for the rest of the year. Seniors should not be forced to go months without life-saving medication because of payment changes. I introduced a bill to give people like Kathleen a pathway to re-enroll in Medicare Part D.

Today, I met with parents, caregivers, and educators to discuss the rising costs of childcare. The consensus was clear: families and providers need more resources to succeed - not less.

When Democrats win the majority, Trump will have nowhere to hide. We will work to end the President’s war of choice in Iran, reverse Medicaid cuts, and lower costs for Americans.

Electricity costs have gone up more than twice as fast as the overall cost of living in North Carolina. I met with elected officials and energy leaders to discuss rising utility costs and Duke Energy’s plan to raise residential rates. Electricity isn’t a luxury item. I will continue to push back against rate hikes and fight for affordable energy.

Our state's economic growth has been fueled by innovation, but much of this progress has been halted by tariffs and other disastrous policies by this administration. Trump's warnings that there would be “no money” for settlements for Camp Lejeune victims if the GOP loses the midterms are repulsive. Veterans and families still seeking justice for loved ones have been through enough before being coerced to vote with Trump in order to get fair compensation. If the President has the power to expedite settlements, as he claims, then we should all ask why he hasn’t been doing so from the moment he took office. I will continue to put Camp Lejeune victims above politics and work across the aisle to get families what they’re owed.

Prices aren't rising by accident. Republicans have voted with Trump to raise the cost of healthcare, food, gas, and more. I spoke about how I'm working to lower costs at my town hall Wednesday in West Raleigh. North Carolina deserves leaders who work for them, not against them.

I am horrified to learn about the attempted mass shooting at a Hindu temple over the weekend, and I am grateful that @CongressmanRaja and his family are safe. The threats of white supremacy and anti-Indian hate must be taken seriously and unequivocally condemned. My heart goes out to our Hindu and Indian communities in North Carolina and beyond in the wake of this frightening attack.

Congratulations to North Carolina's own Christina Koch on becoming NASA’s acting deputy chief engineer. Christina Koch made our state proud as the first woman to journey around the moon. Now, I look forward to working with her as she leads the next chapter of American space travel.
