Boucheron's artistic evolution in the late 19th century comes to life in this transformable diamond tiara, coming soon to #SothebysGeneva. Bid now >> Fascinated by the emerging Art Nouveau style of his time, Frédéric Boucheron incorporated elements of the movement into his designs while retaining the hallmarks of traditional high jewelry. On this tiara, intertwined scrolls reflect this new aesthetic, while the foliate motifs and knife-edge wiring are characteristic of late 19th-century jewellery design. The result is a jewel that captures Boucheron's ability to introduce avant-garde elements into his elegant, traditionally rooted creations.

What kind of watch does a pilot wear when pushing an aircraft to its limits? For Ettore Wengi, a member of the legendary ‘Squadriglia Folle,' the answer was a pink gold Rolex Ref. 6032. Now, for the first time, this historic timepiece comes directly from his family to auction this November at #SothebysGeneva. Bid now >> Only four pink gold examples of the Ref. 6032 are known to have appeared publicly on the market. Adding to its rarity, this example bears a personal engraving for Wengi: ‘7 maggio 59.' The Ref. 6032 offers a glimpse into the evolution of the brand's chronograph design. One of the final two-register Oyster chronographs, it holds an important place in the lineage that would eventually lead to the Daytona.

Cézanne made just four harlequin paintings in his career, and this fall, the only one remaining in private hands is coming to #SothebysNewYork. ‘Arlequin,’ made between 1888 and 1890, sets the scene for the birth of modernity. Here, Sotheby’s Helena Newman examines the elements of this harlequin that make it such a masterpiece of Cézanne’s career. The subject, modeled on his son, stands unwaveringly with an almost mask-like expression on his face. This is in contrast to the energetic, opulent blue and red background, highlighting Cézanne’s innovative ability to build depth through manipulation of color and form. This is a work of juxtaposition and immediacy. You see a solitary figure from the Commedia dell’arte, his defined, diamond costume is set against the lush, loosely painted environment—every element coming together to establish Cézanne as the 'father of modernism.' ‘Arlequin’ will star in Legendary: The Blaquier-Arrieta Collection on 18 November. The sale room at #SothebysNewYork erupted into applause today as Jodi the Nanotyrannus became the second most valuable dinosaur ever sold at auction. Six bidders battled for more than 12 minutes, with Jodi nearly octupling its pre-sale estimate. Jodi is surpassed only by Gus the T. Rex, which sold this past July for a record-breaking $50.1 million. Fittingly, specialist Jodi Pollack was on the phone with the winning bidder for Jodi. Here's the moment the Nanotyrannus sold for a final price of $47.3 million.

After nearly a century in private hands, this Alberto Giacometti plaster sculpture made its auction debut at #SothebysParis. It sparked a lively bidding battle and went on to achieve €8.6 million in the Modernités auction, presented in partnership with @celineofficial. In ‘Tête crâne,’ Giacometti reinvents the image of the skull, replacing the natural curves of the face with a succession of planes and angles. This version from 1934 was acquired directly from the artist in 1935 and has remained in the same family ever since. Today’s sale in Paris marked the first time any cast of ‘Tête crâne’ appeared at auction. If you’re looking to consign with Sotheby’s, tap:

The Ref. 6204 takes us back to the birth of the Rolex Submariner in the 1950s.
