We’ve restricted 6 unregulated lenders after raising concerns over their anti-money laundering controls. The restrictions were imposed on each firm’s request and limit their ability to take on new customers or do new business with existing customers. Annex 1 firms must show they can manage the money laundering risks they face. #FinancialRegulation #FightingFinancialCrime

Rising mortgage rates and energy bills are making it harder to keep up with repayments. If you’re struggling, contact your lender. They must offer support tailored to your situation. They may reduce or pause your payments, change your loan terms or direct you to free debt advice. #HelpingConsumers #FinancialServices

We’ve banned former Vector Wealth CEO Jeffrey Dawkins after his misconduct led to £4m losses in high-risk investments. He falsely told us he remained in control of the firm, allowing its authorised status to make high-risk mini-bonds appear safer than they were. Former senior manager Kadir Kanizi has also been fined and banned. Mini-bonds are high risk investments and not suitable for most people. Read more #FightingFinancialCrime #FinancialRegulation

In a joint operation with @NCA_UK, 3 individuals were arrested following a major operation to disrupt a suspected organised criminal group for insider dealing and money laundering. More than 100 FCA and NCA staff took part in searches at 5 residential premises in London and Manchester. Mobile phones, laptops, and tablets were seized by FCA investigators. Working with partners, we’ll continue to use all the powers at our disposal to crack down on serious and organised crime groups involved in market abuse. #FightingFinancialCrime #FinancialRegulation

Thank you to everyone who joined this year’s Annual Public Meeting at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms and online. Our Executive Committee shared the progress we’ve made on our 5 year strategy and answered questions from consumers and firms across the UK. We took questions on a range of issues including our treatment of whistleblowers, the impact of the Consumer Duty and AI adoption. Consumer protection remains at the heart of our work. By maintaining trust and supporting growth, we’ll continue to deliver tangible benefits for consumers, firms and the wider economy. #FinancialRegulation #FinancialServices

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of whistleblower Simon Andriesz, following the incredibly sad news of his passing. We've asked non-executive director Lea Paterson to review how we interacted with Mr Andriesz, to see whether we could have done things better and learn for the future. It's important that people feel confident coming to us with their concerns and we’re grateful so many do. Read more

Victims of a £1.5m crypto investment fraud are closer to getting money back after we secured confiscation orders against Raymondip Bedi and Patrick Mavanga. The pair persuaded victims to invest in fake cryptoasset opportunities, leaving at least 65 people out of pocket. The orders will help recover funds for those targeted. #FightingFinancialCrime #Crypto #InvestmentScam
