    At least with Maduro (like with Chavez) you could see he enjoyed the rallies, the dancing on stage, the loud music, the cheap tracksuits. Delcy hates this stuff, god knows she pretends otherwise, but the difference in energy between her and Maduro or Chavez is night and day.

There are some right-wing and left-wing populists on the list, as well as the occasional eco-pseudoscience weirdo, so there are bound to be statements ranging from simply stupid to dangerous, potentially raising the risk of sanctions. The movement is contradictory, and its boundaries are not clearly defined. For a while, the Student List will be preoccupied with domestic issues anyway. There are so many cadres from the previous regime to purge, and the priority is to get the institutions up and running. Foreign policy will be on hold.

    The audacity of accusing the opposition of putting up a show when 4 months ago it was her own government which was staging earthquake rescue videos with one guy smashing concrete and the others standing around while thousands of people were literally dying underneath the rubble.

    Looks like some Libyan media are already getting nervous about the annoucement of student protests tomorrow, and have launched an information campaign against the protesters. One outlet states the "hidden plan" of the October 28 movement is to 'promote homosexuality & atheism"

    Following Maria Corina's return to Venezuela 🇻🇪, the US seems to renew its push for elections. Marco Rubio reportedly aims for the establishment of a new Supreme Court and National Electoral Council early next year, after which Delcy is suppose to announce elections.

    If this is indeed the plan and Rubio is serious about it (if), that would mean presidential elections in Venezuela would likely be held by July 2027. Such a scenario would also be quite acceptable for Maria Corina in return for her cooperation as a precondition for her return.
