In September, inflation was up to 4.3% from 4%, well above the RBA's target of 2.5%. Labor will blame the Middle East crisis, but it's clear this inflation is homegrown: underlying inflation is up to 3.6% from 3.5%, services inflation is up to 4.1% from 3.7%, and non-tradeables inflation remains high at 4.5%. Labor's out-of-control spending is driving inflation higher. If the Reserve Bank raises rates for the 17th time under Labor next week – with rates rising to the highest level since 2008 – this Government will only have itself to blame. Not that long ago, the Treasurer said the worst of the inflation challenge was “well and truly behind us”. Today, inflation is high and rising under his watch. This is a Treasurer who has lost control of spending, lost control of inflation, and is raising taxes in his budget of broken promises. Life isn’t easy under Albanese. A cost of living crisis, higher inflation, the largest decline in living standards in the developed world, and the highest interest rates in 15 years. Australians are paying the price for a government that can't control spending, can't beat inflation, and can't get the economy moving. The answer isn't more of Jim Chalmers’ excuses. It's the Coalition’s plan to fix the economy and protect our way of life with lower taxes, cheaper power, less migration, and more homes.

Government spending is fuelling inflation and interest rates. Now, the government has given up on solving the problem. If only you could pay your mortgage with Jim Chalmers' excuses.

Look who our taxaholic Treasurer is blaming now… 🤦‍♂️ Australia’s collapsing housing market is because of what he’s doing, not who is criticising his policies. Small businesses and families are struggling to keep their heads above financial water across the country. And no amount of spin can save them. They need Jim Chalmers to cut spending so that inflation and prices at the supermarket can start to come down, and stop interest rate hikes.
