The Castro regime has profited at the expense of the Cuban people with luxury cars, expensive watches and a private island resort. As I shared this with the world, regime thugs rushed the stage to interrupt my speech. They can intimidate their own people in Cuba but think again about trying that nonsense in the United States of America.

The United States remains committed to defending and promoting the human rights and economic empowerment of women and girls. From Afghanistan to Haiti, the DRC, Sudan, and South Sudan, women and girls face violence and exclusion. Consistent with the Women, Peace, and Security Act, which President Trump signed into law in 2017, we will continue to prioritize these issues. @USUNDeputy

The Central African Republic continues to make progress toward durable peace with MINUSCA's support.   We welcome the mission's steps toward transition and call on CAR authorities to lead on security sector reform.     We encourage CAR and MINUSCA to keep working together on timely transition plans.   Static missions should not become the status quo. @AmbUNReform

We welcome today's UN Security Council vote renewing the Haiti sanctions regime (travel ban, asset freeze, and arms embargo) and extending the Panel of Experts' mandate. This vote sends another unwavering signal: the international community stands with the people of Haiti.

The Washington Accords are a historic opportunity for peace in eastern DRC and the Great Lakes region. The DRC and Rwanda must implement their obligations fully and without delay. We urge the parties to uphold the ceasefire, halt drone strikes, and end inflammatory rhetoric. @AmbUNReform
