A few months ago, the Government of West Bengal sent a report to the Centre on Ganga erosion. Acting on that report, Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C R Patil today met the Chief Ministers of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand in New Delhi. At the meeting, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari successfully secured the Centre’s cooperation for stopping Ganga erosion in Malda, Murshidabad and Nadia, the Ghatal Master Plan, the Sundarbans river embankments and flood control in Malda and North and South Dinajpur. For the safety of the lakhs of people along the Ganga who live in fear of losing their homes and land; always know that your government, is always by your side!

Today, at the Bijoya Meet held at Milan Mela Prangan in Kolkata, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri Suvendu Adhikari, paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragic Chorbagan incident. The State Government provided special assistance to those injured in the incident. While expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, he also extended his warm Bijoya greetings to everyone present.

The Santaragachi–Tatanagar–Jaipur (Khatipura) Express was ceremonially flagged off today in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri Suvendu Adhikari. This initiative marks an important step towards strengthening rail connectivity with other states.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri Suvendu Adhikari, attended a special public service delivery programme organised by the Sundarban Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal, at Kakdwip Stadium in South 24 Parganas, with the objective of promoting the overall development of the Sundarbans and ensuring the delivery of government services to its people. The Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed his solidarity with the grieving families during this difficult time and assured them of all possible support and assistance.

Today, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Shri Suvendu Adhikari visited Baje Kadamtala Ghat on the occasion of post-Durga Puja idol immersion. The Hon’ble Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements at the ghat, security measures and the overall immersion process.
