My company is 8 people. Profitable. No outside capital. $5M revenue this year (doubled every year since 2023). I can work from home. Do school dropoff/pickup. Have a snack with my kids after school. But everyone asks how my little lifestyle business is going? So if you aren't sleeping on the office floor you're not a real entrepreneur? SMH

He's spent 10 years as a CMO, 10 as a CEO, and 10 on boards.
You send in your hardest questions ahead of time, and Dave works through them live. No recording, no notes, 100% off the record.
The rest of the two days is built around working through the hardest parts of the job with your peers:
AI: you're asked to "prove it" with no time to train the team
Differentiation: everyone's struggling to stand out
Managing up to the CEO, CFO, and CRO
What the 2027 marketing org chart looks like
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Seems that life is just a constant war between good and evil
The situation that I'm facing is mad amazing
To think such problems can arise from minor confrontations
Now I'm contemplating, in my bedroom pacing
Dark clouds over my head, my heart's racing
Now you may never be on a Maybelline commercial
But you always let me know when you got some purple
See I can't let you walk away
I can't let you walk away...
spent the morning Doomsday Prepping with my wife
spending the afternoon podcast about b2b marketing, writing, editing, and taking calls
the duality of man
Could I get that tron? Could I get that remy?
Could I get that coke? Could I get that henny?
Could I get that margarita on the rock rock rocks?
Could I get that salt all around that rim, rim, rim, rim?
Trey, I was like, yo, Trey
Do you think you could buy me a bottle of Rose????

Maintaining a clear mind is the hardest challenge of life.
By default we settle into patterns. We do what's easily available and pattern match what others do.
Getting swept away by the day which turn into years. Awaking one day and wondering what even happened to the time.
I've found my morning routine is the best antidote to becoming the System. That is, unthinkingly becoming the default patterns that dominate your era.
Each day, it's time without screens, messages, scrolling, interruptions, and social pressures.
It's filled with silence, the discomfort of discipline and the open space of thought.
There is something magical about the morning. A time when life is reborn each day. I find my greatest solace and joy in them.
p.s. those of you with kids, I hear you. I have three children. Morning routines are practically impossible. Hang in there and even if it's a 15 minute routine, it can be a good practice to maintain sanity amid the chaos.
