Supabase has become one of the default backends for the AI coding era. The open source Postgres platform now has 13 million users, spins up more than a million databases every week, and roughly 70% of its new activity is coming from agents.
As coding shifts from developers writing software by hand to agents building on their behalf, Supabase has been rebuilding itself around that new user.
Supabase co-founder and CEO Paul Copplestone joins Garry, Harj, and Jared on the Lightcone to talk about what happens when everyone can become a builder. They dive into why personal software may become as common as personal documents, how to design products that agents actually want to use, and why knowing what to build may matter more than knowing how to build it.

12 months ago 100% of my coding was done locally against my computer's filesystem
now ~5% is done locally, my computer is a conduit to download and upload files to cloud agents
most days my iPad and iPhone are all I need and I'm getting 50x more work done than I was a year ago
I've been coding for 40 years, and loved it. I don't code anymore, but I still love building things for the same reasons, and it provides the same rewards.
Coding just happened to be a means to an end for me, one I was good at, was lucky to get paid to do, and enjoyed the process of. Yet I don't miss it.
I spent about 3 years writing a LED management system that could deliver arbitrary graphics over WiFi to various LED devices, like this panel. But I had to drive it from a Pi.
They make a receiver card that works over Ethernet, so "all" I had to do was port my code to it!
I connected a Mac directly to a Colorlight 5A-75B receiver card to drive eight LED panels. The goal was simple: display solid blue.
Naturally, this became an investigation involving raw Ethernet packets, reverse-engineered vendor libraries, volatile configuration tables, slow-motion 240fps video, and a brief period during which I apparently owned only five of my eight panels.
The card had never been commissioned (or configured) for these panels. We had no Windows machine, and the receiver’s idea of sensible defaults was “green bars, with enthusiasm.”
We extracted the vendor’s configuration machinery, generated an FM6124 profile, and applied it to RAM without writing the card’s flash. Eventually, we achieved two bright blue panels and several dark ones.
Then I counted the panels again.
Eight. There were eight. I honestly thought I only had 5.
Correcting the geometry got us uniform blue. It also flickered like a nightclub operating under a questionable electrical permit.
The crucial clue: stop transmitting, and the picture became steady. Our packets were disturbing the peace.
Precise macOS scheduling cured the flicker. Then live content revealed a cyan seam and repeated sections. Sending smaller packets made the picture repeat more neatly, which was technically progress if you were building wallpaper.
The culprit was duplicated pixel packets. Sending each once fixed the image. Sending one synchronization packet instead of two removed the big backward jumps.
But occasional stutters remained.
We verified that 30 new images arrived every second, with about 50 frames buffered. Every image went out twice at 60 Hz, in order. The packet captures looked immaculate. The display occasionally looked as though it had forgotten why it entered the room.
So we built a test pattern with frame counters, binary codes, and moving shapes, then filmed it at 240 fps.
There it was: one image held for about 50 milliseconds, the next for only 16.7. A tiny pause, followed by a hurried attempt to look busy.
The final timing change was to upload the pixels early and reserve the precise refresh deadline for the sync packet alone. Sync intervals tightened from roughly 16.27–17.05 ms to 16.64–16.70 ms. Both the test pattern and live ticker visibly improved.
Solid blue turned out to require counting to eight, teaching a Mac punctuality, and explaining to an Ethernet receiver that saying everything twice does not make it clearer.
All the fun, none of the code :-)
It worked.
Gave Claude $20.
Left it coding overnight.
Woke up to:
• finished script
• +$95 from first 5 trades
Didn’t touch anything.
Then I found this wallet:
0xb27b...b82
• $384,858 profit
• 13,070 predictions
• $18.5K biggest win
• Started March 2026
Almost no one is watching it.
While building my script, I copytraded it to test the math.
Started with $80.
→ $4,218 in a few weeks
Every position is identical in structure.
Not trading.
One equation.
Running while you sleep.
Examples:
$17,839 → $36,318 (+103%)
$3,112 → $15,011 (+382%)
$10,676 → $22,178 (+107%)
Here’s the exact framework I gave Claude:
1. Temporal bias
Find BTC time windows with >65% edge.
Ignore everything else.
2. Kelly sizing
Size based on confidence.
Never fixed bets.
f* = (p × b − q) / b
3. Volatility filter
Skip high volatility.
Trade only clean conditions.
4. Bayesian updates
Update probabilities after each trade.
The system improves over time.
Claude built everything while I slept.
Funded it with $20.
First trade fired minutes later.

I Made an AI Game Engine, it's everything you need all in one place. Integrates with Codex, Claude, Cursor, Openrouter, Ollama (can run open source local AI) & so much more. Built in 3D world engine, voxel engine, 2D game sprite creation system, sound FX, audio. Can integrate with Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot, Roblox, Blender. Includes it's own built in 3D modelling system. Driving physical, 3D AI generation, text and video to animation... and more :) BETA! release official. Now out of early access Alpha.
You can also use it strictly for vibe coding. It doesn't need to be a game engine. I stopped using Curosr/Claude Code and Codex separately and now I just use them all via WizardGenie. It's more organized.
Overmind and Overseer modes supporting multi-agent swarms (IE one controlling agent brain, that directs as many sub-agents as your PC can handle) also supports LAN computers running WizardGenie (for when you just have to run SO many coding agents, that one PC isn't enough).
It's been about a year of 7-day / week 14 hour day development. Thank you all who supported early access! You guys are golden.
I truly feel now like WizardGenie is at a place where it's a fully capable game development engine, integrated with my Sorceress game creation suite, there is no type of game that you cannot make.

10 antigravity-awesome-skills → catalogs 2,750+ installable SKILL.md playbooks with a local search engine. searches and previews a plan before the agent touches your codebase
pick one recurring task that drains your time every week. install the skill for it, run it once and read what the agent actually did before you schedule the next one
source → vet → install → staff → ship
every skill runs with your plan's usage and permissions, and community packs are not audited by Anthropic. read a SKILL.md before installing

ANTHROPIC IS CRACKING DOWN ON VIDEO GAME REWRITES 🚨
Claude Code picked up a new rule around Oct 27, sent from Anthropic’s servers under a flag called "tengu_heron_brook". There’s no setting to turn it off.
The full rule: “Do build original games, games in a genre, and games from the user’s own designs and assets. Don’t build a recreation of a specific existing game, even if it is renamed or called original.”
Is this the end of game rewrites, modding and everything in between?
