Manny V. Pangilinan

Spent the morning in Apalit, my hometown, and in adjacent towns and cities—checking on families affected by #HabagatPH. We distributed relief packs and visited dredging work at Tulaoc and Pampanga River along NLEX. Grateful to be able to listen to what our people needed.

Grateful to Ramon Ang / San Miguel / MMDA and DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon. The work continues.

My most profound sympathy to the families of Rene and Divine; my thoughts and prayers are with them. I join the Ateneo community in grief over their loss.

Rene and Divine were young men of promise whose presence made the world brighter. That light has gone too soon; our hearts are heavy with regret and sorrow. Their memory will be carried forward by those who knew them; they will have our eternal respect and love.

Today at 8:28 a.m., MTerra Solar delivered its first electron to the national grid, the first energy as a power generator. Just 16 months from groundbreaking, we are now live and generating mid-merit supply by Meralco. Well done!

Meralco will review its current fuel position—especially LNG, the likely impact on the price of coal, the price of diesel—as these may affect power prices.

We want to ensure adequate supply of power and manage price volatility as responsibly as possible. Have made it clear to the team that we must help protect consumers as cost of goods rises globally.

It would also help if we’re mindful of our electricity consumption as the war in the Middle East continues. We import much of the fuel used to generate power—we can all help to have enough power to get through the next few weeks if we conserve power.

Worrying about our OFWs. I’ve asked PLDT and Smart to offer free calls for Filipinos in countries affected by the conflict in the Middle East. Details to follow, but the marching order is to make it as easy as possible for our countrymen to reach their loved ones, and vice versa.

PLDT, Smart, and TNT subscribers in the PH will also be able to call their loved ones in those same countries for free. We’re offering this until March 7, and will monitor the need for an extension.

Filipinos can also call our Smart crisis hotline to be connected with their loved ones at home. It’s free, and open 24/7 at +63288457799. You can also call the DMW-OWWA 1348 hotline through the TinBo app. Our team will post more details on their official socmed accounts.

Must clarify given reports of online impostors: This is my only X account. My only IG account is mvp3838. And my FB is for friends only. I don’t engage using any other account. Scammers typically become more active during the Holidays, so please be wary. Happy holidays to all.

At the PLDT & Smart WE Play Employee Sportsfest at Dragon Smash Makati. Great to see our people and their families on the courts.

Lights camera action! Our Hollywood movie - The Last Resort! Notable Hollywood Film Director Donald Petrie mentoring.

Voted early today—5:10 a.m. Done and dusted. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

Many congratulations to all Tour of Luzon riders—esp Jan Paul Morales, Joshua Pascual, Joseph Javiniar, and of course the champion Joo Dae Young. Kudos to MPTC for a thrilling, awesome event. More success in 2026! Here's to a future Tour de France rider!

Happy to announce a cash reward of 10M for Caloy and 2M each for Nesthy and Aira. In addition, we are giving 5M to Caloy’s coaching team and 2M to the boxing coaches. Like always, they can count on our continued support until LA 2028. Mabuhay ang ateletang Pinoy!

Dreams are fulfilled in Paris, but they begin here. You’ve made us all proud, Caloy. You’re living proof a Filipino can. We never doubted for a second.

How I’d like to begin my 79th year—working, and planning for the future
