Got a new piece to display. Very whimsical, I am enjoying looking at this; "the sound of memories" from @nftkhatoonart Interestingly I didn't realize I was buying this on secondary until I saw the payment did not go to Khatoon. I know that is how NFTs work, just hit me differently now that I believe digital art purchases should go directly to the artist as a display rights purchase instead of an ownership model.20343

Interesting twist - the provable mathematical verification was removed from Archetype. Verification is now run against the output Michelson code, which is cleaner imo The best options I found with AI searching are: - Mi-Cho-Coq (Nomadic Labs) - Helmholtz (Kyoto University, Igarashi group) - MicSE (KUPL, Korea University) However, these all fail if the contract calls EMIT which is a dealbreaker. Plus none of them have been worked on in over 2 years. So despite it seeming promising to formally verify the art sales contract using automated proofs, I think I'm going to be practical and just make unit tests like I have with previous smart contracts. I can try to get formal verification to work later on but it seems impractical to make it a blocker.00134
.. turns out verifying the Tezos smart contract code I write in Archetype requires a theorem prover written in the functional programming language OCaml. This #tezos art sales project just got way more niche and interesting to the software engineering side of me.ivyroot @ivyrootWoah! Tezos has a language for writing smart contracts called Archetype which has provable / mathematical verification. Definitely trying this out. @archetype_lang01261

New paradigms are like a boat going by; first you see it, then later the waves from its wake reach youA. L. Crego @ALCrego_Digital Online Art belongs to the Web. Not to galleries. Not to museums. Not to art fairs. Not to private collections. The present and future of art belongs to the Web. I have experienced one of these, hoping for more!Multi @multivrsstudiosThings collecting art teaches you about yourself: 1) Your taste and appreciation is a connection between lives. An identification that someone else’s world view or output matches or enhances yours is a very human realization that does nothing but strengthen yours journey. 2) Your memory can be tangible, not just nostalgic. You can have pieces that consolidate an entire period of life within one simple work. Time capsules of your narrative on this planet, reflected through beauty and creativity. They say life is a book, you can make it a picture book full of the most wonderful pages. 3) You can find shelter and refuge within works you’ve collected. Reminders of who you were, who you wanted to be, who you believe you still can be. A single purchase of conviction with your own taste and love unlocks a life of being able to turn back and remind yourself that you are and will be okay. 4) The collection you champion, year by year, tells you that you are alive. And your life is full of others’ lives. A shared existence that you were able to curate from free will and power. Floor prices do none of this. A collection does.00139

I have moved my focus away from NFTs. My current focus is publishing a package of tools for artists to list and sell their artwork on Tezos. As part of switching focus I changed my PFP to a photo of myself. I don't hate NFTs. I have made a few including one which has ended up being an art tool which I share works from on X. But since I switched focus, I changed my profile pic based on the scene I am active in now; #tezos art.00027
Proposal: Artists, in order to remove Speculators we have to also remove Traders and some (but not all) Collectors. In their place we have Displayers, people who care enough about your artworks to display them on screens in the real world. Blockchain transactions record irrevocable sales of a display license for a specific artwork from the Artist directly to the Displayer in exchange for payment. Purchaser cannot transfer this right to another account. The transaction is deemed to be completed when the Displayer downloads files from the Artist’s website. That download is gated by the blockchain record from the transaction. The Artist’s website only allows purchasers of artworks to download full / original files.00019
i've gotten into the acrylic and oil paint styles lately. Usually real painted pieces that have been digitized. Currently displaying a digitzed painting by @bettynajafi which i recently collected, love the calming green.225336
Digital artists should sell digital art, not tokens. The only thing a blockchain provides that helps sell digital art is trust. It gives the buyer enough trust to send money to anyone (even those who banks and credit cards won’t touch) and it gives the artist trust that someone actually paid.10230
Posts @ivyrootOnly people who pay should be given a copy of the artworks. Social media should be used to describe the process and promote the release, not literally dump the final product. Also, ideally the artists should operate the websites that provide downloads of their work. This will be cheap and easy, though not as cheap and easy as centralized service doing it web2 style. But if artists operate the websites the ecosystem will be much more sustainable, like Wordpress instead of Tumblr.00120
Eventually people will realize Art + Blockchain ≠ NFTs. You can be active on both sides but only one of them is going to be focused on art and it's not the NFT side.vangoya @vangoyaaNFTs cannot be ruined by anything Hype and speculation can damage a market's reputation They don't erase the art or the culture being built within it. What dominates the conversation today can become a footnote in the history of the work Art has survived wars and outlasted civilizations I don't think one speculative cycle gets to decide what lasts00120

ivyrootRT @BlackstarXXI: NFTs before Bayc was much more intellectual and sophisticated Bayc pulled in the worst of people, tarnishing nfts for a long timeMudtooth @mikematveiReducing BAYC history to “holders rode 150 to 6” completely misses what BAYC did for NFTs. BAYC gave NFTs culture, identity, community and mainstream attention at a time when most people still thought NFTs were just JPEGs. It proved that an NFT could be more than art, it could be a membership, an identity, a brand and an entire ecosystem. BAYC helped create the blueprint that countless collections followed after it. It pushed the idea that holders could have commercial rights, build businesses around their NFTs, create communities and turn a collection into a real brand. It brought celebrities, brands, events, communities, IP, gaming and mainstream attention into the space. Without BAYC, the NFT space would have looked very different today and probably much smaller. The floor can go from 150 to 6 ETH. That doesn’t erase what BAYC did for NFTs.0101

...went shopping on Teia and purchased a great piece, "close horizons". Displaying right now in my new frame w/ low light & a lamp behind it. Call it #tezos Friday because this is putting me in a smooth evening mood I love how the artist made it: "image captured with a circuit-bent toy camera and databent in audacity. glitched images were then layered and color-tuned in affinity."20442
