RT @Adam_Johno85: I can take being shouted at I can take banter But physically taking my microphone out my hand and launching expletives at myself just because your side lost a game of football is too far If losing a game makes someone go that far they should just pack it in and stay at home

RT @soniasodha: This is going to be a v important judgment in relation to balancing the competing rights at stake. There is huge public interest in the freedom of the press to report multiple allegations of sexual misconduct by a public figure.

RT @charlesarthur: Amazing: journalist does journalism to discover something, and because everyone is so used to people living by press release, they literally can't believe the journalist found it out on their own.

This is a hard watch. Fair play to @Phil_Vickery for speaking out. Whatever your views on the court case contact sports can surely do more to counter the damage head injury can do.

RT @jayvanbavel: Meta had an internal PR plan to try and discredit Jon Haidt because he was a critic of social media. Meta was going to recruit academics, like Andrew Gelman, to write take down pieces. They were trying to turn academics against one another through a "whisper strategy". This is a very serious problem for open academic debate. If academics who share negative evidence about a platform are targeted by campaigns to smear our credibility, we are in deep, deep trouble. This creates a very serious conflict of interest for anyone who is paid to do this.

RT @pistol147: Completely overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since my statement. As I continue my treatment and my recovery now know that I simply have to raise more awareness around mental health in the future Best part of 6 weeks before the UK Championships starts and all being well I’ll be in a better place by then but for now it’s just one day at a time Thanks again for all your support. It’s meant so so much to myself and my family

RT @derrycityfc: Derry City FC and James McClean can confirm that they have reached a mutual agreement to terminate James’ contract with the Club with immediate effect. This agreement brings an end to the recent dispute. Both the Club and James are satisfied with the outcome and are pleased to move forward constructively. James McClean commented: “I am pleased that we have reached a resolution to settle these matters. While my return to the Club did not work out as I had hoped, Derry City FC will always hold a special place in my heart. I want to thank the fans for their support, and I wish the squad, the management, staff, and the supporters the very best for the future. In particular, I want to wish the team the best of luck in the FAI Cup Final against Waterford FC.” Philip O’Doherty, Chairman of Derry City added: “On behalf of everyone at Derry City, I want to thank James for his dedication to his hometown club. His achievements extend far beyond the Brandywell; amassing 103 senior caps for the Republic of Ireland is a remarkable milestone, and we want to formally acknowledge his immense contribution to Irish football as a whole. We wish him the very best for the future. “Neither the Club nor James McClean will be making any further comment on this matter.” NB. Derry City FC wishes to acknowledge the extensive efforts of Joe Jeffers SC and Stuart Gilhooly SC in helping to bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion.”
