Ty Vek @ty__vek

Let's have a little giveaway like its 2023, shall we? tl/dr: Go generate a bunch of GIFs from The Flood & The Whale algo (🔗👇)... and then Quote this post with your favs. then: I'm going to give a free piece from the collection to the 4 people who post my favorites. etc: If I can't choose because they are all, like, so good... I might just pick random winners, so please find the best outputs you can so this can mean something. You can only win once, but you can enter as many times as you like. Go wild. I want to be drowning in GIFs. I want the whales to choke on GIFs. I want to build an island of GIFs so we survive the flood. Winners will be able to pick their piece from the set of 20 that I mint for my archives. (Side note: If you don't win this contest, but end up minting a piece next Tuesday... and you prefer something that I have in my archives, you can always trade me for the one you want.) Now, click the link in the next tweet and cross the threshold in your own little hero's journey.

Developing a project for years undoubtedly teaches you things about yourself, allowing for moments of inner growth. @StudioYorktown's journey throughout 'Theoretical Civilization' was profound. What had it meant to stay with an idea prolonged, even when the path forward wasn’t clear? Bruce: I never originally set out to become a coder and even when I started, I often felt that I was out of my depth. Attempting this body of work, I started with a goal that was somewhat beyond my comfort zone. Several years later, I feel something has been achieved simply by showing up and making incremental progress. Gaining insights into things that extend beyond just art or the process of making art. When you're up at 3:00AM figuring out how to create a generative kitchen cabinet and bar stools, you ask yourself... "Why bother to go into that detail? Does anybody even care?" The growth happens because you realize for some reason, you really want to code that kitchen cabinet, so you develop the confidence to code that kitchen cabinet even though nobody may even notice it! That is the process of taking a chance on yourself which ultimately is far more important than what the results may yield.
