RT @josephspicozzi: On National First Responders Day, I want to thank the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities. As the son of a retired Philadelphia Deputy Fire Chief, I understand the sacrifices first responders and their families make to keep our communities safe. Growing up, he always checked our smoke detectors. Be sure to make my Chief Picozzi happy and comment below that you checked yours! October is also Fire Prevention Month, so here's my ask: check your smoke detectors this weekend. Test them, change the batteries, and make sure the older neighbors on your block have working ones too. To our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and all first responders, thank you for your courage, dedication, and commitment to keeping us safe. Our communities are stronger because of you, and you deserve our gratitude and support every day. 🇺🇸 #FirePreventionMonth #PhillyFirefighters #FirePrevention #national

RT @PAGOP: 🚨 REMEMBER: Shapiro Took Over $2 million from Epstein Associate 🚨 Just a reminder: Shady Josh Shapiro took over $2 million in campaign contributions from Reid Hoffman, a man known to frequently travel and visit with Epstein on his island. 💰 Shapiro refused to return the money, even though he knew exactly where it came from and Reid Hoffman's ties to Epstein. Now Hoffman is funding ads around the country attacking Republicans for their votes on Epstein, even though he was a close friend of Epstein. These are the Democrats in 2026. They care about nothing but themselves. 👎 Read more 📖: #PAGOP #ShadyShapiro #Epstein

RT @UnsolvedCaseHub: On January 26, 2011, a snowstorm hit Philadelphia hard enough that schools let out early. Ellen Greenberg was 27, a first grade teacher. She was engaged, planning a wedding, and living with her fiancé in an apartment in the Manayunk neighborhood. That afternoon, her fiancé went down to the building's gym. When he came back up, he couldn't get in. The apartment door was locked with the swing bar latch, the kind that can only be fastened from the inside. He called her. Texted her. Emailed her. For about half an hour. No answer. He finally forced the door open. Ellen was in the kitchen, slumped against the cabinets. A 10 inch knife was buried in her chest. She had been stabbed 20 times. Including wounds to the back of her head and neck. She also had bruises in different stages of healing. The medical examiner who did the autopsy ruled it a homicide. Then, after meeting with police, he changed it. Suicide. Police pointed to that latched door. No sign of forced entry. No sign anyone else had been there. They said she'd been under stress and anxiety in the weeks before. Her parents were devastated. How does someone stab themselves in the back of the neck? Twenty times? They spent years and hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting the ruling. Forensic experts sided with them. Even the original medical examiner later said in a sworn statement that he no longer believed it should be called a suicide. In 2025, the city settled their lawsuits and agreed to a fresh review. The new review came back in October 2025. Same answer. Suicide. Then this January, something nobody expected. Federal prosecutors started issuing subpoenas to the Philadelphia police and other agencies involved in the case. By spring, FBI agents were interviewing witnesses. Her fiancé has never been suspected of wrongdoing. Nobody has ever been charged. 15 years later, Ellen Greenberg's death is still officially a suicide. Her parents still don't believe a word of it.

RT @TheLtColUSMC: “They came in peace, but you chose violence.” Beirut wasn’t just a bombing — it was a wake-up call written in blood. 🩸 241 of our own, gone in seconds. Marines don’t remember them with words — we honor them by how we fight!

RT @USMC: In Remembrance of Beirut #OTD in 1983, a terrorist bombing at the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, claimed the lives of 241 U.S. service members, including 220 Marines, serving as part of the Multinational Force in Lebanon. On October 23, a suicide bomber drove a truck laden with explosives into the barracks where U.S. Marines were stationed on a peacekeeping mission. The attack devastated the building and became one of the deadliest days in Marine Corps History. The Marines in Beirut were deployed to help restore peace and stability amid escalating violence in Lebanon. Despite the dangers they faced, they carried out their mission with courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to one another. The Beirut bombing left a lasting mark on the #MarineCorps and the nation. We remember the lost lives, honor the wounded and survivors, and recognize the families and loved ones who continue to carry the weight of that day. Their sacrifice remains woven into the legacy of every #Marine who has answered the call to serve. Today, we pause to remember the 241 American service members who never made it home and honor their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty. They came in peace. They will never be forgotten.
