    today JIO lists on the stock market and honestly i owe this company more than any stock i'll ever buy if JIO wasn't there in india
i wouldn't be where i am today let me explain before 2016, 1gb of data cost ~₹228
the average indian used ~240mb a month 
the internet was something you "checked", not something you lived on then jio came 
free internet. then the cheapest data in the world 
₹228/gb became ~₹8/gb 
215 million people joined in under 2 years i was one of those kids a kid from rajasthan with a budget phone and a ₹149 recharge 
no connections. no fancy degree. no plan but i had unlimited data so i watched youtube till 3am 
learnt marketing by breaking things 
found crypto twitter before my friends knew what bitcoin was 
started posting. started building. started getting paid on the internet today the average indian uses 25gb+ a month 
and i'm a gtm marketer in dubai working with teams across the world none of this happens without cheap data jio didn't just sell sim cards 
they handed a whole generation of indian kids a shot and today they ring the bell grateful forever
