McKinsey says 11 million American workers are going to have to switch jobs because of AI, so @novogratz and @Scaramucci get into who pays for that transition, whether those CEOs' 'morally binding' safety pledge is worth the paper it's written on, and why Mike thinks the 2s/30s steepener is the best macro trade of the next two years. Plus, we go thumbs up or thumbs down on an Anthropic IPO above $2 trillion, the 10-year hitting 6%, and, yes, the Yankees making the World Series, which I'm calling right now. @SALTConference Watch/Listen on X, YouTube, and Spotify. RT @Scaramucci: The inflation print was ugly, rates are backing up, oil’s near $100, and the S&P still refuses to roll over, so Mike Novogratz (@novogratz) and I dig into whether this market is bulletproof or just one bad headline from its first real correction. We also get into the Fed’s next hike, what an AI catastrophe would do to the NASDAQ, where Bitcoin goes from here, and why Texas Republicans are calling the Talarico race existential. All this and more on this week's episode of All Things Markets (@AllThingsMkts) presented by @SALTConference Watch/Listen on X, YouTube, and Spotify. RT @MilkRoadStocks: Rate hikes may feed inflation instead of killing it, according to Bill Ackman. Whoever wins the AGI race gets "almost infinite" ROI. So no interest rate is going to slow them down. That makes the AI economy price-insensitive - meaning higher rates might actually be feeding the inflation loop instead of killing it.

Ray Dalio thinks AI is a bubble. He looked at Japan, 1929 and 2000. All of them had the same dynamic of a bubble which he is seeing with AI as well. His framework: Wealth and money are not the same thing. You can create wealth without creating money. Raise $50 billion on a $1 billion valuation and you're a billionaire on paper but you only put up $50 million in actual cash. When wealth grows massively relative to the money supply, the system becomes fragile. That moment is the pricking of the bubble. On the AI cycle specifically: He's watching the same pattern build. Not at 1929 or 2000 levels yet but "rising closer." While he thinks is a bubble, he also thinks the wealth gap implication is severe. A very small percentage of the population will do extraordinarily well and many people won't (a K-shaped economy if you will).

.@novogratz says the scariest line in @DarioAmodei's letter is an admission nobody really understands AI. "We basically pour in power, data, and compute, and the magic happens. It's like trying to understand the brain with a functional MRI." We must get the smartest people together and truly understand what AI is and can do.

.@novogratz isn't flinching on Bitcoin, even with the price sitting near a key level. "I still like the chart. It will not surprise me if we're at $100K by year end." @fundstrat makes the the point that Bitcoin's big moves come in about 10 days, so you either stay long or you miss them.

All Things Markets is back after a short hiatus, but Mike Novogratz (@novogratz) and Anthony Scaramucci (@Scaramucci) are here to stay. They have a lot to unpack: from rising interest rates and Bitcoin’s sudden resurgence to the very real questions about artificial intelligence that frankly should have all of us paying attention. They get into what’s driving these markets, why crypto may have found its footing again, and the bigger question hanging over AI: if even the people building this technology don’t fully understand how it works, how worried should the rest of us be? @SALTConference Watch on X, YouTube, and Spotify. RT @Scaramucci: Niall Ferguson (@nfergus) has this to say about my upcoming book, All The Wrong Moves. "How the hell did we get here? How did a New York real-estate guy turned reality TV star get elected twice as president of the United States by a deeply polarized electorate? To answer that question, Donald Trump’s shortest-lived hire as press secretary―the irrepressible Anthony Scaramucci―offers three others, which explain the populist backlash that brought Trump (and himself, briefly) to power in 2016. Now estranged from the MAGA movement, Scaramucci has written a compelling early draft of the history of our times―what he calls history from “the Money Point of View.” Like its author, All the Wrong Moves is smart, sharp, and self-aware."

RT @SALTConference: The debt conversation has gotten so bad that people are just saying "pray" to deal with the issue. The US is $40 trillion in debt, possibly $41 trillion by year-end. Bessent came in as the guy who understood the plumbing; his own goal was a 3% deficit. We're at 7%. 10-year yields haven't been this high in 15 years. DOGE could've done something about the debt, but it was treated as a stunt rather than a serious, bipartisan project.

RT @milkroaddaily: Novogratz: The single number you need on your screen right now is the 10-year Treasury yield. "4 to 4 and a half, 4 to 460, fine zone. We start going to 470 to 520, not a fine zone. And if it's going there quickly, really bad." The US has $41T in national debt that's accelerating. That's why Trump and Bessent want short rates back to zero - they pay a lot financing that debt. FT @Scaramucci @Novogratz @AllThingsMkts @SkyBridge. Follow for more: @milkroaddaily

Lyn Alden: Once debt-to-GDP crossed 100%, 40 years of declining rates kept things manageable. Now rates are sideways and the tailwind is gone. "Interest expense has outpaced defense spending." The Fed's tools were built for a different era - and "their option space narrows" the deeper we go into fiscal dominance. FT @DavidLin_TV @LynAldenContact @EgoDeathCapital.
