"In 1910 30% of America were farmers. Then the tractor came. They said, "We've been doing this for generations, but it's gone. That path is gone. And we have to get our kids ready for this new future." Boy do I feel that as a parent.

The last time a new machine threatened a third of American jobs, we reinvented how we educated our kids. That bet sparked an epic 100-year run. It is time to make it again.

Every time Google comes out with a new model it crushes every other model on every single benchmark and I know basically zero people who regularly use Gemini

My biggest pet peeve is when AI harnesses don’t keep the order of chats in place from one decide to the other. Switch from desktop to mobile and everything you were working on has disappeared. Why why why?

On the day Zitron should be eating humble pie he finds a way to delude himself into continuing to think it’s all a circle jerk and it’s fake. “They’re all buying compute. Guess from who? Other big companies. It’s a scam!” How do you think this would work? Generational moron.

If you didn’t know SpaceX has compute you’re not in a position to opine on precisely how the AI industry should work

I asked my Chinese friends whether or not they respect Mao and they just said, “Are you trying to get me sent to prison?” Which seemed odd and didn’t really answer my question.

I’m not. A lot of people died. A lot of people were killed. Brutal. But yet the Chinese largely respect Mao. Ask yourself why. Because there are many countries where they absolutely despise their strongmen or even put up museums to display the brutality of previous dictators. China is not one of those countries.

Baffling thing about Lorenz's ascent to the highest ranks of journalism is her reporting skills were... okay? She never broke any signature scoops. She didn't have particularly keen insights and analysis. Wasn't an impressive writer. She just knew about TikTok before others and relentlessly self-promoted.

If you’re a great engineer it’s much faster, more lucrative, and most importantly a lot more fun (if you’re a psycho like we all are) to just join Gauntlet AI.

This is what Gauntlet AI’s interviewer does, by the way. Submit your code. OK now it’s going to pick apart your code, ask you why you did certain things, and ask you to justify the system design. Shipping code that works is free now. Shipping the right code is still hard.

let candidates use ai in the interview. make them defend every decision in what they build. i care more about what you can ship with leverage than how well you perform with your tools taken away.

Scott Galloway says Tesla is the patient in Musk's SpaceX merger and SpaceX shareholders are the organ donors "It's a real merger with a fake promise. When Musk merges something into another, it's an acknowledgement that it's about to crater." "He stuffed Twitter into xAI, which then got folded into SpaceX. His M&A strategy is simple. When one of his kids is failing, he makes another family adopt it." "So, right now, Tesla is the patient and SpaceX is the organ donor or SpaceX shareholders are the organ donor." "So, who wins? Tesla shareholders... That's like trading, you know, your Buick for a piece of a Gulfstream."

I still prefer OpenAI's models for most deep-in-the-weeds or very specific things. Anthropic/Claude still wins for overall orchestration. By a lot.

A link on our site was broken (because an integration failed) and nobody had noticed it for a couple of days. Solution? Put together a Quality Control Bot that crawls the entire website as a first-time user every day, tests all forms and CTAs.
