During my latest interview with @PakTVGlobal, I discussed Pakistan's diplomatic role in the Saudi-Iranian talks in Tehran and the growing expectation of another round of regional military escalation. "Pakistan is walking a diplomatic tightrope. It is a member of the Mecca Pact and an ally of Saudi Arabia, but it is also Iran's neighbor." According to reports emerging from Tehran, yesterday's meeting was arranged at the request of Pakistan's leadership. If accurate, that alone represents a diplomatic achievement for Islamabad, bringing Saudi and Iranian officials face to face at a time of considerable regional tension. "Nothing concrete may have emerged from today's meeting, but getting the parties to sit together is a step forward. At the end of the day, all wars end at the negotiating table." I also explained that Riyadh is pursuing several tracks simultaneously. It is recalibrating its military deterrence against the Houthis, reinforcing its northern border with Iraq and engaging Iran directly through diplomacy. "Saudi Arabia is preparing for further confrontation while keeping diplomatic channels open. The two are not mutually exclusive." Having just returned from Qatar and with another visit to Bahrain approaching, my conversations across the Gulf suggest that regional governments are increasingly anticipating another round of military strikes, whether Israeli or jointly conducted by the United States and Israel. "The question in the Gulf is increasingly no longer whether another round of strikes will happen, but when."

Voices from Houthi-Controlled North Yemen Lutf al-Fattahi, a fiercely loyal Houthi social media content creator known for his aggressive rhetoric, threats and constant attacks on the group’s opponents, has posted a video pleading with Abdulmalik al-Houthi for financial assistance and medical treatment. Al-Fattahi, who has often appeared more loyal to the Houthi leadership than the leadership itself, says he suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure and other chronic illnesses. He claims he has received no medical assistance despite repeatedly contacting Houthi officials and fellow loyalists. “I even pawned my personal weapon to pay for treatment,” he says, adding that his monthly allowance from the Houthis barely covers rent, electricity, water and internet expenses, let alone the costs of his online activities defending the Houthis. “I swear to God, I cannot afford medicine or treatment,” he tells Abdulmalik, whom he repeatedly addresses as “my master” and “the crown upon my head.” The spectacle is striking. A man who has spent years loudly defending the Houthis and attacking their critics is now publicly begging publicly the same leadership for basic medical care.

RT @eucopresident: The war in Yemen is intensifying, deepening the humanitarian crisis and affecting millions of people. I just spoke with @PresidentRashad al-Alimi to reaffirm the EU’s full solidarity with and support for the Government of Yemen and its efforts to restore peace and stability. I conveyed the EU’s strong condemnation of Houthi attacks within Yemen, against Saudi Arabia and on shipping in the Red Sea. We call on the Houthis to immediately cease their attacks, de-escalate and return to negotiations under UN auspices. Only an inclusive political solution can bring lasting peace to Yemen.

High-Value Houthi commander killed in Taiz, Yemen. Houthi supporters are mourning Major General Naji Ahmed Omair, commander of the Houthis 15th Infantry Brigade, from the Al Omair clan of the Dhu Musa [Bakeel] tribe, Barat Al-Anan district in Al Jawf. The Al Omair clan has supported the Houthis since the six Saada wars, with fighters deployed across fronts from Bab al-Mandab to Jizan, Marib, and Raboua. The clan has lost a third of its men in the fighting, including 14 relatives of Omair killed in a single battle near Bab al-Mandab in 2016. Interestingly, Maj. Gen. Omair previously fought against the Houthis during the six Saada wars, when he served as a guidance officer in a Yemeni government military brigade, before later joining their ranks.

#Yemen War #SITREP | October 26, 2026 | Yemeni government forces, supported by popular resistance fighters and air cover, reported new territorial gains west of Taiz, while coalition-aligned forces continued targeting Houthi positions, commanders, and reinforcements across multiple fronts under Operation Dawn of Yemen #ODY. The Taiz Military Axis @axistaiz announced that government forces and popular resistance fighters, backed by air support, captured the strategic Tabbat al-Midan hill in the al-Dhabab area west of Taiz. The military released footage of the offensive and reported additional advances along the western front. @modgovksa warplanes reportedly carried out three airstrikes against Houthi positions and troop concentrations on the al-Aqroud front in al-Masrakh district, along with two additional strikes against Houthi-controlled positions in Sami' district, south of Taiz. @Yem_army_media released over the past 24 hours reportedly shows drone strikes targeting Houthi commanders and reinforcements across Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Mayyun [Perim] Island in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Drone units from the First Division of the National Shield Forces @diralwatan reportedly struck a Houthi military vehicle on the al-Muhawalah front. The Southern @SouthArmed Giants Brigades @alamalikah released footage reportedly showing the destruction of two Houthi military vehicles, including an armored vehicle, on the al-Mudaribah front. War in #Yemen #SITREP | It has been 21 days since the Houthis began their siege of Taiz city. Heavy fighting continues across multiple fronts as government forces, local resistance fighters, and coalition aircraft target Houthi positions in Taiz, Lahij, Marib, and Al-Jawf. The Taiz Military Axis @axistaiz reported today that government forces and popular resistance fighters repelled a Houthi assault on the Al-Aqrud front in Al-Misrakh District, south of Taiz, killing and wounding several attackers. Intense clashes continue in the area, with units from the 35th Armored Brigade, supported by local resistance fighters, engaging Houthi forces around Al-Sharaf and Tabbat Abdullah Ghalib. Government forces on the Kahlan front thwarted a Houthi infiltration attempt toward Tabbat Al-Sharaf. The movement could have extended toward Tabbat Abdullah Ghalib had the attackers broken through. The 35th Armored Brigade says its forces continue to repel Houthi attempts to advance along this front. Coalition warplanes reportedly conducted three airstrikes west of Taiz city. The first targeted a Houthi gathering and a vehicle-mounted 23mm anti-aircraft gun at Tabbat Al-Dhanin, northwest of the city. The second struck Houthi personnel and military vehicles north of Jabal Han in Wadi Hanash, while the third targeted Houthi concentrations in Ghurab, west of Taiz. Battlefield footage released today shows an airstrike targeting Houthi positions and troop concentrations in Al-Dhabab, west of Taiz city, this morning. Further south, the Southern @SouthArmed Giants Brigades @alamalikah released footage showing their forces destroying two Houthi military vehicles on the Al-Mudharibah front. Separately, Al-Mihdhar Brigade, also known as the Deterrence Brigade, reported launching a surprise assault against a Houthi position on the Al-Subayha front. Troops from a battalion commanded by Alawi Hassoun reportedly stormed the position, killed the Houthi fighters stationed there, and seized their weapons and equipment. In Marib, government forces reportedly brought down a Houthi first-person-view (FPV) drone on the southern front. A field source said the drone was recovered intact without damage. Meanwhile, newly released footage from the Third Military Region Command @Yem_army_media shows drone strikes targeting Houthi troop concentrations, barracks, and military equipment across the Marib fronts, where intermittent clashes continue. In Al-Jawf, footage released by the Sixth Military Region Command shows drone strikes targeting Houthi trenches, fortified positions, and military equipment across the governorate's front lines.

RT @timourazhari: GENEVA, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Fuel shortages in Yemen's besieged city of Taiz have forced one hospital to cut the number of incubators it can operate from 40 to 10, putting newborn babies at risk as weeks of fighting choke off vital supplies and deepen a humanitarian crisis affecting hundreds of thousands of people. "There's no oxygen, there's no fuel to run the incubators, to keep the babies warm," said Nada Ahmed, a nurse in the neonatal unit of the Yemeni-Swedish Hospital for Maternity and Childhood. Nawal Najeeb, a supervisor in the neonatal unit, warned the facility could be forced to halt operations if fuel supplies do not arrive. "It will be a catastrophe for the babies, a catastrophe of deaths and disabilities." Taiz has been largely isolated since October 3, with fightingpreventing humanitarian supplies from entering and civilians from leaving, following an escalation in clashes between the Saudi-backed government and the Iran-aligned Houthi movement.
