Took my computer into the shop for a simple $80 fan cleaning. 3 hours later: “Your laptop is ready. Total is $410.” I only authorized $80. Apparently they replaced the battery and upgraded the storage drive without asking because of their “mandatory device health protocol.” Then they refused to give me back my laptop until I paid the balance. So you can just install $330 worth of unapproved parts I never asked for and hold my computer hostage? How is this even legal?

But the first document I opened made my knees weak. It was a life insurance policy. And my husband had listed someone else as his wife.
