@EmperorReign_: 🕯️💔 IN LOVING MEMORY OF GOD’S WILL IHOGBE, AKA GOVIC
2012 A PAIN THAT TIME HAS NEVER ERASED.
Some people leave this world, but the memories they create remain forever in our hearts.
God’s Will Ihogbe, popularly known as GOVIC, was the son of a pastor at Assemblies of God Church, Okhagbo, Opoji, Edo State. He was more than a friend to me; he was like a biological brother, even though he was older than I was.
In 2012, his life was cut short in a tragic encounter with the police in Ekpoma. According to the police report, he was accused of rape and robbery involving a student at a hotel in Ujemen. However, based on the account of the investigation we carried out at the time, we found no evidence to support those allegations.
Before he died, while bleeding in police custody, he reportedly told a female police officer that he had a disagreement with a policeman over a phone. He was involved in the phone business, although he did not yet have a shop. According to what his family was told, the female officer relayed his account to the family and the DPO.
His death left questions, pain, and memories that have remained with those who knew and loved him.
I will never forget the bond we shared. We sang together, played football together, and enjoyed moments that will forever remain part of my story. He believed in me in a way that made me feel I had a brother standing beside me.
Today, I remember not just how his life ended, but the person he was to me: a friend, a brother, and someone who believed in my potential.
His father, a man of faith, chose to leave the battle in God's hands, trusting Him to judge all things in His own time.
GOVIC, you would have been 40 years old today. 💔🕯️
It hurts to think about the years you never got to live, the dreams you never got to fulfil, and the moments we will never share again.
Though you are gone, your memory lives on in my heart. Time may pass, but the memories of a genuine bond never fade.
May your soul continue to rest in peace, GOD’S WILL IHOGBE, AKA GOVIC.
Until we meet again, my brother. 🕊️💔
Gone from our sight, but never forgotten.
