    Saw him at one practice his freshman year a thought, wow, he is going to be a special player. Best player in the 2026 draft imo. And that's saying a lot because there was some really good ones.

    Nah. Mismanagement of a very talented roster of guys is what it is. Illinois was missing their starting QB and started a freshman. Oregon's backup is basically a 2nd starting QB with experience. That's the nuance that's missing.

    Every year I hear "there's not 12 teams that can win a national championship" and every year I see more and more parity. Like it or not, playoff expansion is needed to meet the demand for more competitive meaningful games.
